Did they forget about Jeb! ?
You are right! Where is he in this poll???
WTH is SDA?? South Dakota Associations?
Too many dang acronyms thrown around here, like chicken scratches and always incoherent.
Jindal came across to me as a bitter old man with nothing but nasty comments about others. I went from backer to plugging my ears when he speaks. The more I saw him in action, the least I liked him.
I think the reference is to seventh day adventist
It took me a minute or two but I think SDA is Seventh Day Adventist.
Ben Carson is an SDA, apparently Ted’s wife had some affiliation with them as well.
Seems to me that all University surveys skew liberal
She repudiated her parents? Her brother? Her parents are in the dental field, dentist and hygienist. Her brother is a physician. All are still associated with the Adventist church. I’ve met her dad. Her brother is on staff at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Seventh-Day-Adventist
She was raised an SDA. Went to SDA elementary, middle, and high schools. Went on SDA mission trips with her parents and brother.
Okay, so we have six comments tied up over a damn acronym that few knew and no one associated with Heidi Cruz.
So after the acronym waste. of. time. I’m wondering how 7 Day Adventists believe, as opposed to say, a Baptist Cruz?
Do you know?
Bush at 3 percent?!
The schadenfreude is strong and sweet!
They are significantly different than Baptists.
They are not Trinitarian, and that is huge. They believe a deceased Christian does not go immediately into the presence of the Lord but takes a long dirt nap until the end of time. They don’t believe in hell, but in annihilation. They believe in following the Old Testament law. And they believe the writings of one of their founders is on a par with the bible.
That’s hugely different than Baptist....and any other historic Christian church, to be honest with you.
Excellent clarification. Thank you VERY much.
The reason I asked is my own curiosity about Heidi Cruz and her own affectations, coming from that relatively minority background.
Now are Adventists Mormons? I have often heard that they are very similar to the point of no difference.

Adventists are not Mormons. My memory says the Mormons are out of the restorationist movement about beginnings of 1800’s and that the Adventists are out an eschatological movement from mid-1800’s. I’d have to check.
Adventists are not Baptists or Mormons. I can give you a site that gives a brief synopsis of Adventist’s general beliefs. Be aware that not all Adventists believe precisely all of the doctrinal teachings as written. For example, not all Adventist believe in the Trinity although it is part of church doctrine. Thank you, yadent. I just had no clue how they lined up against with mainline. I think I have the gist of it, now.
