Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to set up a joint military operation with France to combat Islamic State.

Moscow says the move follows a telephone conversation with French President Francois Hollande, who had earlier urged the US and Russia to join a a coalition to destroy the extremist group.

He issued the call after IS admitted responsibility for the Paris attacks, which killed at least 129 people and wounded over 350.

Mr Hollande will travel to Washington and Moscow later this month to discuss ways of increasing international cooperation to smash IS and settle the Syrian crisis.

Mr Putin has apparently ordered the Russian Navy to contact its French counterparts, to work together as allies.

Look for French jets to be operating out of Latakia in coming days, I think. Along with French Special forces.

The French have better sealift support capabilities than the Russians, as well.

Putin Says France Now Ally in Syria as Russia Steps Up Strikes

President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian naval forces in the Mediterranean to work as allies with French warships in attacking Islamic State targets in Syria as his military stepped up its offensive against the terrorist group.

France has a naval group led by an aircraft carrier heading to the area where Russian vessels are operating, Putin told a naval commander of a warship in the Mediterranean Sea on Tuesday in a live video link shown on Russian state TV. “You need to establish direct contact with the French and work with them as allies,” Putin ordered.

The US government cannot be trusted in this coalition. Obama will betray it.

That’s a pretty damn sad statement, isn’t it...

I read somewhere today that the French were hitting empty buildings because they were relying on U.S. intelligence, whose main goal is to avoid civilian casualties.

You got that right. I wouldn’t want one of my kids to be in the military under this traitor.

Assad is the leader of Syria. HE is not a person who cheers for America.

Despite that Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, and Bush II, all found ways to make accommodations with him...which he honored.

He learned from his father not to screw with Israel too.

I know this, Christians were not being beheaded, crucified, and rounded up and killed in Syria by Assad. now they are with ISIS.

Our own President, Barrack Obama, through his misbegotten notion of the so-called “Arab Spring,” through his pulling the residual force out of Iraq, through his support of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt in overthrowing a leader there who was our ally (who the Egyptian Military and people ultimately had to in turn overthrow and now hunt like dogs...the Muslim Brotherhood), and through his illegal/murderous efforts to fund our own enemies (the radical Islamic in Syria) in Syria to try and fight Assad (that was what Benghazi was all about) has created the killing fields in Syria himself.

It is past time that we use our forces and join with the French, and yes, even the Russians, to eradicate ISIS completely from the face of the earth.

The status quo under Assad was far better than what e have now under Obama’s policies.

Since USAF Political Officers want to get rid of the A-10, perhaps the French might be interested in some of them.

Numerous sources reported that.

The “ISIS Training Camp” Obama told them to hit was abandoned by ISIS after the Russians flattened most of it two weeks ago.

The French are reportedly REALLY PO’d at Obama over this, which would go a long way to explaining why the French and Russians are combing efforts officially now.

because they were relying on U.S. intelligence

More and more "U.S. Intelligence" is becoming an oxymoron.

I want one. Without the 30mm Gatling gun it should get great mileage

Especially when you consider that the good guys who are defending western civilization and Christendom are Russia and France! That’s how far we’ve fallen under this tinpot dictator wannabe.

I don’t blame them for being losses and colluding with the Russians. Obama only cares about headlines that make it look like he is doing something.

“The US government cannot be trusted in this coalition. Obama will betray it.”

As long as the Obama administration holds sway, and the chain of command which punished Sergeant Charles Martland for stopping ongoing rape of civilians remains intact, anyone in real battle against jihad should indeed hold their cards very closely.

The French may rethink their economic relationship with Russia as well, there are some common benefits to both.

As long as Obama is pres I’d just as soon we stay out of it. Everything he does is strictly for show and just makes the situation worse or gets our people killed. Looks like the Russians and French actually want to win so let them fight this battle.
