I can understand why evangelicals would not like Trump. And believe me, in Iowa, most of them don’t.
But I don’t understand support for Carson. The guy and his positions are off a notch.
You think Evangelicals go along with 7th Day Adventitism?
I think it’s twofold.
First it’s exposure. Carson hit the media focus with his boldness at the prayer breakfast. Willingness to stand up to Barry made him a hero. He’s an underdog. He stood up to Barry and was attacked by liberal media — the same liberal media that’s now “attacking” his positions. The media killed it’s credibility in covering Carson after the prayer breakfast.
Second, it’s Carson’s response to the criticism. He’s been firm, but not obnoxious. The “pray for him” comment was perfect for appeal to evangelicals. His quiet confidence goes a long way.
well, this Evangelical likes Trump. We are electing a President, not hiring a pastor. I’ll take the sometime Presbyterian warts and all.
Trump’s three wives, his lack of Christian charity to his fellow man (to say nothing about how he treats his fellow Republicans (whom he just joined when he decided he could bamboozle enough of them into making him president)), his arrogance and bragging, are all traits that run contrary to Christian ethics. Trump laughs at mocks Christian values. Trump loves money in a way that is, to say the least, not the type of behavior often seen as fitting the teaching of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
