Last weekend I took my 9-year-old on a mother-daughter date to Fashion Place Mall. As we sat in the crowded food court enjoying an ice cream, two white men in their early 20s walked by our table, each wearing jeans, a tucked-in T-shirts and a prominently displayed gun in its holster. The men walked slowly and seemed to enjoy the fact that people in the food court were visibly alarmed by their conspicuous exhibition of weapons.
My immediate response was fear for my and my daughter's lives. We have all seen the tragedies in the news. We've heard how these incidents play out; a man calmly walks into a crowded public space with a gun and begins shooting innocent people at random. These acts of unconscionable violence are so common and numerous in the U.S. that we refer to them in shorthand by their location: Columbine, Fort Hood, Newtown, Virginia Tech, Aurora, Charleston, Isla Vista, Trolley Square.
Heart pounding, I took my daughter's hand and quickly walked away from the area fearing that today our photos would be the ones in the news, and people would say of us, "They just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time." Upset at leaving her ice cream, my daughter resisted and asked where we were going. When I told her that some men in the food court had guns and it wasn't safe to stay there, her eyes got big with fear, she squeezed my hand and hastened her steps. As soon as we got out of the area, I called mall security and reported the situation.

The democrats try every trick in the book to get people’s guns but they do not enforce the sensible laws that are already on the books. For instance, it is against the law to give a gun to a felon, yet many straw purchasers buy guns and give them to their friends. A recent case is one of Jalita Johnson who was a straw purchaser for her felon boyfriend Marcus Wheeler who murdered police officer Kerrie Orozco with the gun.
What Jalita Johnson did was a crime and she should have gone to jail for it but Judge Eleanor L. Ross let her go. Judge Ross bears responsibility for the death of the officer.
We hear of so many gun deaths, democrats are always talking about gun violence but what do they do when they have an opportunity to keep a gun out of the hands of a felon? Nothing.
Who is giving guns to all of those thousands of gang bangers who are killing themselves and innocent by standers? Who is getting guns for the many killers who are breaking into people’s homes and murdering people like that mother in Indianapolis?
Juvenile delinquents are not allowed to own guns but somehow they are getting them very easily because they are using them every day on other juvenile delinquents or innocent bystanders or victims of armed robberies, home invasions or rapes. Who is giving them these guns? Straw purchasers—often girlfriends of the thugs. If we want to stop gun crimes we have to address the problem of straw purchases and how corrupt liberal judges like Judge Eleanor L. Ross who could very easily stop gun violence by using the law to imprison straw purchasers. If more straw purchasers were thrown in jail there would far fewer guns in the hands of criminals. Maybe that young mother from Indianapolis would be alive today.
This dumb bunny has no doubt been voting democrat all her life and doesn’t realize that she is endangering her life by voting for the party of liberal judges. Liberal judges are the ones who are the week link in the criminal justice system. The police do their job and then the liberal judges give the criminals a slap on the wrist.
You'll likely see more from the SL Trib, now that Salt Lake City has an openly lesbian mayor.
It's now time to consider many- not all- journalists and news outlets as enemy sympathizers, if not outright accomplices. We can't allow them to help kill our fellow Americans- real ones- any longer.
