How very interesting....
“In those days,” Francis repeated, “the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.”
The Pope is dispensationalist and doesn’t understand the old testament which gives clarity and understanding to the statements in Revelation - in other words, he’s wrong.
Just different ways to approaching scripture.
“in other words, heâs wrong”.
What you quoted is the scripture he read. You must have thought he made that up when you say he is wrong.
What - any references to your eschatological view?
He most certainly is not. No member of any of the ancient liturgical "apostolic" churches is a dispensationalist. In fact they look down on dispensationalists (and all Fundamentalist Protestants, really).
Thank you! These were also my thoughts as I read this. All of the things he is describing happened at the “end of the age” - when the temple was destroyed. We now live in the “age to come”. The only thing left is being “called home” (often referred to as the rapture, though that word is not in scripture), where those whom Jesus knows will enter into His blessing, and the rest to judgment.
Be ready!!
