Why 2016 could be shattering for Republicans
The Washington Post ^ | November 13 at 8:30 PM | By Stanley B. Greenberg

Posted on 11/14/2015 9:12:24 AM PST by Mariner

Election Day 2016 will produce a shattering crash larger than anything the pundits anticipate because the revolutionary economic and social changes occurring in the United States have now pushed both the burgeoning new majority and the conservative Republicans’ counterrevolution beyond their tipping points.

The United States is being transformed by revolutions remaking the country at an accelerating and surprising pace. Witness the revolutions in technology, the Internet, big data and energy, though just as important are the tremendous changes taking place in immigration, racial and ethnic diversity, the family, religious observance and gender roles. These are reaching their apexes in the booming metropolitan centers and among millennials.

As the revolutions interact, they are accelerating the emergence of a new America. Consider that nearly 40 percent of New York City’s residents are foreign-born, with Chinese the second-largest group behind Dominicans. The foreign-born make up nearly 40 percent of Los Angeles’s residents and 58 percent of Miami’s. A majority of U.S. households are headed by unmarried people, and, in cities, 40 percent of households include only a single person. Church attendance is in decline, and non-religious seculars now outnumber mainline Protestants. Three-quarters of working-age women are in the labor force, and two-thirds of women are the breadwinners or co-breadwinners of their households. The proportion of racial minorities is approaching 40 percent, but blowing up all projections are the 15 percent of new marriages that are interracial. People are moving from the suburbs to the cities. And in the past five years, two-thirds of millennial college graduates have settled in the 50 largest cities, transforming them.

Stanley B. Greenberg should save some of this ‘great concern’ for Democrats who have lost almost a thousand political seats in the country to Republicans.

Hey Stanley B. Greenberg - do your pity party crap for them...

The last major upheaval in American politics was the 1927-1933 election cycle. I am probably wrong, usually, but I seem to see a repeat.

My Fathers generation is mostly dead, my generation is dying, Boomers. The young people I talk with, Gen X, are pissed, Millennials are pissed.

These people feel that they are screwed, passed over for political reasons. God save us from interesting times.

Keep in mind that real Americans have not had a political voice for years, due the the perfidy of the GOP. I think that is about to change.

It began with George McGovern’s Presidential candidacy in 1972 and came to its fruition with Bararck Obama’s two elections.

The Rise of Politically Correct America.

Unlike some, I don’t think their victory is inevitable. The last two mid-term elections and the off-year elections this year are signs of hope. IMHO, Donald Trump’s candidacy could be the turning point.

This battle has left the Republicans with mostly married voters, as well as the oldest, most rural and most religiously observant voters in the country. That creates formidable odds against its winning an electoral college majority.

That may be true, in the United States as currently constituted.

What the author - like essentially all Democrats - miss is that if we Americans find ourselves cut out of Presidential elections due to Democrat-controlled changes in immigration and demographics, then we will quit the deal and leave the union.

Look at the 2012 county-by-county electoral map. We control essentially everything from the county level on up to the governorships and legislatures of the entire country except for large portions of the coasts. And, as the author points out, this is where the new Democrat-leaning immigrants have congregated. It therefore should be a simple matter to jettison these areas which are already lost to us in order to save the large majority of the country that remains in our hands.

Inhabiting their liberal bubbles on the coasts and in a few islands around the Big Ten cities and other large cities in our heartland, they can't imagine a world without us to exploit and so they planned accordingly. All of their plans assume that we will simply accept whatever the legal institutions that our ancestors created for our benefit, even after those same institutions have been subverted by our enemies. They forget that we as a people were born of revolution and civil war.

And that we're armed to the teeth.

I predict a whole series of Bundy Ranch incidents, where our side will stand up to FedGov and the liberals - delusional cowards that they are - will back down time and time again. We will win. We could do this now peacefully if only we could get our minds around the fact that the coasts are for the most part lost to us.

The left's greatest fear is that White people will begin to vote as a block and that they will actually close the border after expelling the illegals.

Hardly. Racializing politics works in the left's favor. If all your concerns can be dismissed as related to skin color it's not hard for them to be dismissed.

The Carly/Carson/Rubio vs. Trump bickering just became irrelevant as of Friday afternoon.

What’s going on in Paris is scaring the sh*t out of people. It’s also the best real world example for what Trump has been saying all along about restricting immigration, shipping out illegals, and closing the f***ing borders.

Trump’s ideas no longer seem unrealistic; they seem necessary for survival.

Meanwhile, in the real world, some bed-wetter from Salon posted this yesterday...

Under President Obama, Democrats have lost 900+ state legislature seats, 12 governors, 69 House seats, 13 Senate seats. That's some legacy.

Brings a smile to my face every time I see it.

The Heritage outfit ought to examine (say) 10 Liberal / Progressive / Democrat policies that have been passed into law and quantify in detail the economic and social damage done to the USA by each one.

A social example could be the destruction of the black family by Welfare.

An economic example could be the unsustainable National Debt caused by ‘free education.’

The results could be published in the run up to an election cycle. </rant off>

The racial nature of the left’s gloating is truly disgusting. Hatred of whites will be America’s dominant theme over the next century.
