I went to Subic several times as crew of a Destroyer. It just might be the worst place in Asia outside of the Vietnam war zone. Sailors mugged ON base. Going on liberty only in groups. It’s a horrible place. Eff ‘em.
I've docked at Subic at least a dozen time, with two of them extended refit stays.
