Donald Trump hit Ben Carson in a new Instagram ad, in which he wondered if his fellow GOP front-runner is a "violent criminal" or a "pathological liar."
The ad, released in honor of Friday the 13th, features an old Carson interview where he describes an incident in his childhood when he tried to stab someone in the abdomen. The Carson clip is followed by a clip of an old neighbor of his who said he never knew Carson to be that violent of a person.
Directly following, Trump's team asks whether or not Carson is a "violent criminal or a pathological liar," adding that "we don't need either as president."
Spooky music plays throughout the ad, playing off Friday being Friday the 13th.

I like Trump and have my issues with Carson. But this is a pretty low blow.
Say what you want about Dr. Carson, but he is clearly not a “violent criminal”.
I wish he would attack the REAL ENEMY-—the DEMS!! This will not reflect well. Sorry (not sorry), Trump is losing me step by step.
He may not be a violent criminal, but he is indeed a liar.

Carson has done himself in with writing what he did in his books, and all the other stuff that has come out about him, by himself I might add....

Fact of the matter is, Trump is screwing up.
I say this as one who likes what he has done and how he has shaped the race.
In saying this doesn’t help him I say it because we need the on target Trump. Not this fluff.

Dare I say that he's acting like the Romney campaign against his Republican opponents a campaign which, as we all recall, suddenly turned soft and squishy once the nomination was secured?
My biggest fear with Trump and also the reason I'm still backing Ted Cruz.
I had to watch the clip to see where this was coming from.
On it's face, the video juxtaposes Carson talking about his supposed violent attack and attempt to stab someone. Then, it jumps to a person who grew up with Carson who claimed it wasn't Carson's character to be violent.
As we already know, Carson's redemption story has some holes in it.
So, the video is not attempting to paint his as violent, it is simply addressing weakness in Carson's character.
Carson's weak sauce explanation regarding his payment for Mannatech speeches does indicate he is willing to stretch the truth.
Why didn’t the Brave and Powerful Donald have the balls to ask this of Carson on Tuesday night?
The beginning of the end of Trump for me. As cool as a trump victory would be, I always felt, deep down, that he would never make it to the finish line.
Not only stupid, but chickensh*t as well. The two were face-to-face before, during and after the debate just three nights ago. Where was Trump's bravado then?
I wonder if Trump’s anger last night was at the Republican party. Maybe he found out some way they might succeed at sabotaging him. I don’t know whether Romney is a viable possibility or not.
The only reason I think that is not the source of his anger is that I don’t see him lashing out at Ben Carson over that, unless Carson was involved in the intrigue somehow.
Your last paragraph in what you posted seems to fit especially well in explaining Carson, doesn’t it.
I don’t think the point is to call Carson a violent criminal, it’s to expose him as a “pathological liar”. I don’t like it but in the end, if Carson has that problem I sure the hell don’t want him as President.
