Stdent protests roiled college campuses Thursday, when Claremont McKenna College's dean of students resigned under pressure over racial tensions and protesters at more than 100 colleges and universities nationwide demanded the cancellation of student debt.
Dean Mary Spellman at Claremont McKenna stepped down after she sparked a campus protest and hunger strikes by two students this week over her email to a Latina student saying she would work to serve those who "don't fit our CMC mold."
Spellman later apologized but her remarks appeared to be a tipping point for students who have pressed the campus for months for greater diversity among faculty and staff and more funding for multicultural services.
Spellman's resignation came days after student protests over racial discrimination pushed the University of Missouri's president and chancellor to resign. Hundreds of students at Ithaca College in upstate New York have demanded the resignation of the college's president, Tom Rochon over accusations that he has failed to address racial insensitivity. Racial tensions also prompted hundreds of students to demonstrate this week at Yale University.

More and more of our degree holders are working for the government, as well as non degree holders, all paid by taxpayers. Tell me again how this is good.
And, then we have the math, engineer, business, nursing/medical students who work below the pay given to drone government workers...tell me again how this is a good thing.
Eh...the beating heart of anti-Western Civilization sentiment is University academia.
There, they always felt secure in promulgating ALL manner of rot; “Kill your parents” “Steal This Book” “The Framers were just Dead White Men” “America is the Worst Country on Earth”.
But the catch was on campus they were totally insulated from all the practical consequences of what they were teaching. Outside, there were a trillion lawsuits for harassment and hurt feelings, meanwhile all students had to toe the line when writing stupid GE credit lib art term papers, “Yes, I’m so ashamed of being white, my parents are no good and my g-parents killed Indians...”
But now their own lazy charges aren’t going OUT and sowing chaos —they’re doing in their own backyards.
The profs aren’t pulling grenade pins and throwing, no. The grenades are blowing up in their FACES and my prediction is that more and more intellectual laziness that’s going to continue to happen closer and closer to them.
It will NOT be the Provost followed across the quad and shouted down and hounded, mercilessly as we saw at Yale —it will be the Prof herself called out immediately during a regular lecture and her podium will be physically rushed, sending her sprinting from the room.
The really wonderful thing is the perps will NOT be us. It will NOT be our kids. We will be guilty of NOTHING more than our way of thinking.
No, the perps will be the lefties who while mouthing “tolerance” in fact consider as criminals those people who have opinions just one tiny shade different from their own.
It will be total chaos.
What would you say about a riot between, say, Hollywood studio executives, and, say, the rank-of-file student body of Harvard..?
I call that Glorious Fratricide.
PC leftists set the stage where an accusation is all the proof needed, let them suffer from their own insanity
Not snow flakes but revolutionaries. The left set the rules and are being gored by them
Watching young leftists (students) protesting against old leftists (professors and administrators) in a desperate race to see who can be more Politically Correct is great theater.
We want a free, sensitive education or we’re takin’ it down, baby.
How is this fascist—or extreme rightwing?
This is extreme leftwing IMHO.
I’d say that would be wonderful. But, that isn’t what’s gonna happen, imo.
“No, the perps will be the lefties who while mouthing âtoleranceâ in fact consider as criminals those people who have opinions just one tiny shade different from their own.
“
They already do and those people continually cave. The agenda gets more specific and the people who have questions/issues/other beliefs that don’t fit, get convinced again. Or battered to back down. It’s a never ending cycle.
I hope you’re right. I just don’t see it yet.
No they’re not. Unfortunately.
Then they’ll finally get the education they deserve.
But that’s just what it is...theater.
They’ll come around, as they always do...and then what? They’ll be Constitutionalists? Conservatives?
I don’t think so.
These kind of people stick together, something our side doesn’t seem to do. lol
The pansy socialist chickens have come home to roost.
Tell me exactly where and how they are being “gored” because I ain’t seeing it.
Yep!
Well right now they certainly aren’t sticking together. They are at each others throats. The inherent conflicts and contradictions of the “progressive” movement are now on full display. And people are (hopefully) waking up to the stupidity of it all.
NOW? Look at today's mess.
