Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), who has spent the past few weeks taking oblique swipes at Senate colleague and presidential campaign rival Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), took a direct swing at him Thursday in a clash that signaled a newly bitter fight between the two rising candidates â and illustrated the GOP fieldâs contentious fault lines on immigration policy.
Cruz blasted Rubio for his support of a failed immigration reform bill that would have granted a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, telling conservative radio host Laura Ingraham that Rubio had opposed adding provisions to the bill that would have strengthened border security

Cruz has said he would make known his policy issue differences with other candidates.
That is hardly grounds for “bitter fight” charges.
He will not take personal swipes and he hasn’t.
“a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants”
Amnesty to illegals. My cow died so I don’t need the bull.
Sic him Cruz!!!
Rubio would make a great Press Secretary for Cruz.
True, he’ll be looking for a job.
It WILL be interesting to discovery what The Rube has been promised for resigning his Senate Seat.
It WILL be interesting to discover what The Rube has been promised for resigning his Senate Seat.
I am sure there are plenty of bartender jobs open a a yacht club for Lil Marco.
Cruz couldn’t trust the back stabber.
Cruz was right at the debate when he said that Hillary will be President if GOP has a nominee that supports amnesty
Cruz has been riding on Trump's coattails, creating the illusion that he mirrors Trump on immigration. He does not.
I see that Cruz is also planning a rally in Orlando tomorrow.

Cruz offered the amendment to expose the hypocrisy of the Democrats, knowing they would not go along with it. This was a chess move to help defeat the Gang of 8.
But Cruz does not tell you that he only opposes the pathway to citizenship. He redefines amnesty to only refer to that. Thus Cruz thinks that a candidate can promote granting legal status and creating a second class of permanent resident that won't be granted naturalization and win the Presidency.
When the junior senator from Texas utters the words [ALL ILLEGALS MUST GO] then he becomes credible on illegals issue. Otherwise allowing illegals to stay id certainly a form of amnesty. Amnesty is not one size fits all. There are 100 shades of gray in it.
That is the lie put forward by Cruz's camp, but notice they will not affirm either that they support deportation of all 11-40 million illegals. Here is Cruz in his own words fully supporting his amendment, not as a gimmick, but as a heartfelt attempt for "immigration reform":
"And I'd like to make a final point to those advocacy groups that are very engaged in this issue and rightly concerned about addressing our immigration system, and in particular about addressing the situation for the 11 million who are currently in the shadows. If this amendment is adopted to the current bill the effect would be that those 11 million under this current bill would still be eligible for RPI status.** They would still be eligible for legal status and indeed under the terms of the bill they would be eligible for LPR status as well, so that they are out of the shadows, which the proponents of this bill repeatedly point to as their principle objective -- to provide a legal status for those who are here illlegally to be out of the shadows. This amendment would allow that to happen...
And a second point to those advocacy groups that are so passionately engaged. In my view if this committee rejects this amendment, and I think everyone here views it as quite likely this committee will choose to reject this amendment, in my view that decision will make it much, much more likely that this entire bill will fail in the House of Representantives. I donât want immigration reform to fail. I want immigration reform to pass, and so I would urge people of good faith on both sides of the aisle, if the objective is to pass common sense immigration reform that secures the borders, that improves legal immigration, and that allows those who are here illegally to come in out of the shadows, then we should look for areas of bipartisan agreement and compromise to come together and this amendment-- I believe if this amendment were to pass the chances of this bill passing into law would increase dramatically, and so I would urge the committee to give it full consideration and to adopt the amendment."

Here's another good article on this topic:

You should stop trashing Trump’s likely running mate. If you want to hit a Rino, pound Rubio or Carson.
No brainer! FUMR!! Amnesty pimps need not apply!! Go, Cruz, GO!!
