Billionaire 2016 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump waded into coffee giant Starbucks' alleged war on Christmas Monday when he suggested a boycott of the company over its controversial red holiday cups, but the company says there is no war.
"Did you read about Starbucks?" Trump asked a crowd of about 10,200 during a rally at a convention center in Springfield, Illinois, on Monday evening.
"No more 'Merry Christmas' at Starbucks. No more," he said as the crowd booed disapprovingly at his comments. "I wouldn't buy. Hey look, I'm speaking against myself. I have one of the most successful Starbucks in Trump Tower," he continued. "Maybe we should boycott Starbucks, I don't know. Seriously," he added to cheers. "I don't care. By the way: That's the end of that lease. But who cares? Who cares? Who cares?!"
Trump then hit the crowd with this promise: "If I become president, we're all going to be saying 'Merry Christmas' again. That I can tell you. That I can tell you! Unbelievable."

So THAT’S the connection Trump wanted us to find....
Man that guy is good, he drops his tid bits, we go to work to find the reasons why and waaa-la there it is....
GO TRUMP ALL THE WAY TO THE OVAL OFFICE!!!
It is clear you don’t understand the impact of what is happening in our country spiritually.
Do research on this verse in the Holy Bible (mentioned several times throughout the Bible). Find out its meaning and how it relates to what is going on in our country...if you care.
“A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.” Galatians 5:9
And a red coffee cup without a wreath or ornament on it is impacts your faith how?
This conversation is obviously going nowhere.
I am done.
You make no sense.
I am done.
Before you go, please tell me what, in your opinion, should Starbucks have done? Added a wreath? That will halt the spiritual downfall of this country? Really?
Thank you for that video. That is so awesome.
Every chance we have to express hatred of liberal totalitarians is a ‘must take’ opportunity. It doesn’t mean we have to put great effort or time into it...just that it must be noted.
Why? Because the left must be told we will not be bullied by PC crap... They have the freedom to reject traditional American values (it is a free country) and we have the freedom to reject them.
That’s what the left has been pushing - that THEY have free speech and ‘feelings that can be hurt” but we don’t... It’s totalitarian - it’s evil - and we have to fight back on every level.
When I arrived in US as a grad student in 1960, you could not go to any restaurant or hotel without seeing Christmas decorations. Not any more. Something has changed. And as a person of Hindu religion, I do not like it. I enjoy the Christmas spirit. This PC crap has to stop.
âFools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.â
Proverbs 18:2
Well here is the thing for me. I am a Christian, not always the greatest example of one, but one nonetheless. And I DO, I would like to think, know what is going on spiritually in this nation. I talk about it most every Saturday afternoon on the show, so I would like to believe in some small way I do my part.
I can’t tell where this is the issue several of you think it is. Near as I can tell Starbucks cups NEVER, or at least for some time had not had the words Merry Christmas on them. Seemingly they had reindeer or ornaments or something like that on them. Now that is festive. It’s seasonal. It’s stuff that is fun to see. It’s not really ANYTHING having to do with the CHRISTIAN aspect of the season. So if Rudolph isn’t on a coffee cup, I am not taking that as an attack on Christ. Especially if indeed they are selling Christmas blend coffee and Advent calendars.
Now don’t get me wrong. I believe there is something to wanting to remove Christ from Christmas. But I also believe that the Satan and his forces have moved far beyond Starbucks coffee cups and the larger war is being fought elsewhere.
"But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, 'You fool!' will be liable to the hell of fire." - Matthew 5:22
âThe prudent keep their knowledge to themselves, but a foolâs heart blurts out folly (foolishness).â
Proverbs 12:23
âA little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.â
Galatians 5:9
This reminds me of the Confederate flag thing. Take one photo of a punk nut case that has it, and then focus on it and see if anything sticks. In that case it did.
Same with this stupid cup thing. One guy with a stupid youtube video and it gets picked up by the media to make Christians look like bigoted idiots. Looks like Trump fell for it.
He could have used it as a bigger platform. “Starbucks cups are a war against Christianity!? To tell you the truth, I’m more concerned with ISIS beheading Christians in Syria, Muslim men invading Europe, and people advocating Sharia Law in the United States.”
1) Supporting Trump when he makes Christians look like fools following some internet rumor doesn't help.
2) "As a person of Hindu religion" I should probably let you know that your idea of Christmas spirit and the Christian idea of Christmas spirit are going to be different.
The bellow is from Why You Should Ignore the Starbucks Red Cup 'Controversy'
A Santa, a snowflake, some holly, a polar bear, some jingle bells or plain red cup don't define Christmas for me as a Christian. My relationship with Jesus does. So, I will joyfully sip on my Starbucks coffee, in a plain red cup, and instead of complaining about the lack of decorations, I will lovingly share the good news of Jesus Christ with friends and co-workers or anyone who's willing to engage in conversation. The true Christmas spirit is Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Son of God. I sincerely hope you will use this Christmas season to read, discuss, learn more about Him.
Very true.
But how about you, or someone show me and others where the little bit of leaven is here. Show me where Starbucks cups said Merry Christmas last year and stopped doing it this year and I will stand with you. Although, a late pastor of mine used to say we go for the head of the serpent and not the tail. If it is a case of no more Rudolph that would be the definition of chasing the tail.
I have my beliefs and you have yours. Let’s leave it at that.
That’s fine. So with no evidence other than Donald Trump got mad, I guess we will see this differently.
