I really don’t care either. It’s just that when I looked at the thing and saw they removed all holiday symbols but left their logo-gal it seemed insensitive.
Again, it’s fun to pick on Starbucks because they’re so over-the-top with the trendy PC stuff.
I posted this in the other thread, I will repost it here in case anyone is interested.
I use to buy Starbucks Iced Coffee a lot. Then I discovered how to make the same thing at home. This tastes almost exactly like Starbucks Iced Coffee.
First, buy Trader Joes Italian Roast whole beans (13-oz canister - âDark Roast Rich & Boldâ - UPC 0055 1427). Grind the the beans at home. Brew with bottled water in a French Press (I use 4 level coffee scoops - [8-Tbsp] of coffee grounds per 32-oz of water). Brew 4-minutes then plunge coffee. Remove from French Press and chill in fridge. Also make some coffee ice cubes from this brew. This chilled brew, combined with the coffee iced cubes tastes exactly like the Starbucks Iced Coffee. Also saves a lot of money.
The made up battle of the cups. There’s no real outrage over the Starbucks cup — one guy made a tongue-in-cheek video and now there are countless articles about the so-called outrage. Viral idiocy.
‘Joy’?
What about ‘Mary’, or ‘Holly’, or, heaven forbid, ‘Noel’?
What about ‘Sue’, or ‘Sarah’ or ‘Polly’?
How about a simple ‘Merry Christmas’? (I love the smell of Liberal heads exploding in the morning!)
Wine! :-)
Big fuss for something that ends up in the trash after you finish with the coffee.
They should have a lady wearing a Holiday theme coat and as the warm coffee is poured in the coat disappears and.... well that is my Joy : )
I like the Dunkin’ cups (and also like the Starbucks cups - knee-jerk, they are perfectly festive). But the idea that Dunkin’ released the cups in response to the Starbucks “controversy” is just crazy. The Starbucks “controversy” just came up last week. With a company as big as Dunkin’ Donuts (around 11,000 stores, 7,500 of which are in the U.S.), the process of designing holiday cups, getting corporate approval of the designs (which would involve legal sign-off and a copyright search to make sure they’re not inadvertently copying someone else’s design), producing the cups and getting them distributed to their franchisees would take months, if not longer. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are already working on the design for next year’s cups.
Their (Starbuck’s) CEO said don’t shop their stores if you don’t accept their politics. Fine by me. Didn’t go there anyways. Haven’t been in one in a long time and when somebody wanted to meet me at one, I suggested a different place and that’s where we went.
I have my DD in hand right here.... and I can’t stand Starbutts!
Duncan Donuts coffee is way better than Starbucks. Starbucks is over roasted thus giving it a burnt flavor.
my top 5 grounds
Joffreys
Duncan Donuts
Quik Trip
McDonalds
Kirkland medium roast
Iâve yet to encounter anyone offended by either cup.

Please view comment 12 in this thread to encounter one who is ‘appalled’ by the starbucks cup.
Agreed. I think it was a pretend conservative pitching a fit to make Christians look stupid. Sort of like that freak Brother Nathanael. False front operations.
DD coffee is much better than Starbucks, so good on them!
The problem with Starbucks is that they are ALWAYS trying to do something with PC overtones so no one trusts them anymore. A second issue is that their coffee really isn’t that good.
Print up a million Merry Christmas cup sleeves and sell them outside the Starbucks stores.
Starbucks tried to invade Australia, in short they had to close over three fourths if their stores because Oz has some phenominally good coffee. The locals were disgusted with the burnt coffee.
I LOVE this:) competition in the marketplace!
Starbucks is BURNT over priced coffee. You have to put the 1/2 and 1/2 to cover the burnt test. Then the cups, when full still drip.
There are three local restaurants/coffee shops that I really like their coffee.
However, when it comes to chain coffee then
Dunkin Donuts
Sheetz
Starbucks
Kangaroo
Wawa
