My assessment thus far:

Jindal has done well with separating his economic views from those of Huckabee and Christie. I think that he has done the best thus far. He is appealing to economic conservatives.

Christie is a good orator and has done well from that standpoint. However, he is appealing toward the moderates.

Santorum has done well, but has stayed out of the back and forth.

Huckabee perhaps has done the worst (thus far). He (along with Christie) has been hurt by Jindal’s attacks, and he has to appeal to a more conservative audience than Christie.

Mods are good. Huckabee has no chance (he also looks old and tired) but has said some good things, Santorum is an idiot and a poor speaker, and it’s really between Jindal and Christie. They both have pretty good ideas and both of them, in very different circumstances, have done well in their respective states.

It will be interesting to see the “top tier.”
