Doughty, I wouldn’t doubt for a second that the GOP bought a few for even Ron Paul, if it would bring Trump’s numbers down.

Do you think the DRUDGE poll means Kasich, Bush and Fiorina go away to the Happy Hour Debate? She made 5%, they made 1%. What the heck is the cut off point in NOVEMBER, for pete’s sake?

ZZZZzzzzzz.

Trump was great. He was very presidential and commands respect every time he opens his mouth. He’s a real leader and anyone but a blind man can see that. When he spoke on the economy he was like an economics professor talking to his pupils. He gave no off-the-wall answers. He won, Cruz second, little Marco the talking 21st Century robot came in third. Kasich and Bush should call it quits. Carson was once again like a fish out of water but of course Fix News is already saying Rubio and Carson won, which is utter BS!

Yes. May be a lot of libertarian Paulbots out there, waiting in hope for him to break out, but disappointed he hasn’t yet. Speaking from experience.

Cruz and Trump are impressive though.

But the government will NEVER phase out the income tax and we’d wind up with BOTH.

I actually prefer him in these non debate settings. He gets a little too preachy up on the stage. He’s much more personable in the one on one.

“Exactly. And that’s why we need Cruz to refute Hellary’s demagoguery in the general election.”

Yeh, my biggest fear, however, is that these two battleships are the last men standing and they will destroy each other..

Cruz is definitely the most intelligent / constitutionally astute / conservative / etc... Cruz has the ability to run circles around Trump in a debate format..

that said, Trump is right there and has some serious appeal..

IMHO I think Cruz needs to be VP 1st .. that is my hope, otherwise I think we end up nuking ourselves...

If Cruz nukes Trump... well, we’ll see.. but it will be a bit tougher.. I could be wrong..

Did he say that? Well, that would have been a mistake. He’s not as precise as some others about the finer economic points but he came down on the right side of the issue by straightforwardly coming out against minimum wage where others up there (probably Bush and I don’t know who else) are either confused or NOT against the minimum wage. Carson had a better reason than Trump against minimum wage.

NOBODY said ANYTHING about the fact that federal interference in wages is unconstitutional. Where is the Constitution in all of this?

The fact is the Constitution is front and center when it comes to federal acts.

I have a saying. When it comes to federal acts, you just have to ask yourself one question, “Is it Constitutional”?

And then you can add, “Well IS IT, Punk?”

(Clint Eastwood in “Dirty Harry” if you’ve never seen the movie...)

:)

Norma Shearer ? I'm 83 and she was before my movie going time.

That's the beauty of TCM. I once channel-surfed to Marie Antoinette (1938 -- made years before I was born) and was blown away by Norma Shearer. I would probably never have seen it but for TCM. Now, if I see a Norma Shearer movie upcoming, I'm likely to check it out. She won a bunch of Academy Awards and made scores of films.

I think Cruz is to smart for that. After 4 debates they have not gone after each other. I think they need each other to defeat the dimoKKKRATS. Go Trump/Cruz

Rand Paul did very well tonight. I’m for Cruz, then for Trump. But Rand Paul’s positions — particularly on the Constitution and size/scope of government — are a lot more simpatico to our (FReepers’) ideals than Bush, Kasich, or Rubio.

I’m glad Paul doesn’t stand a chance of being the nominee; but I’m also glad he’s doing well enough that his voice will continue to be heard in these debates. His ideas are never discussed in our common-core, public-school civics classes. A good education for the younger folks. Well, as long as the subject isn’t marijuana....
