When these kids get their street cred, is there some sort of ceremony? Do the proud Moms cry tears of joy as they see little Daquan or LaSheeniqua cross the stage to receive their certificate of thughood? And the Dads, random Dads since no one is sure anyway, raise their 40 oz. malt liquor to toast this special rite of passage? And imagine the hopeful waiting by the mailbox for the acceptance letter (bloods, crips, BLM, etc.) to help launch them forward into their careers...

Read this story last week and was saddened. Today, I’m back to being mad.

You jest I know but a lot of these kids live in homes where their parents don't give a damn about them and would never have been born if their parents hadn't been getting high and having one hour stands. I used to walk in and out of section 8 housing all the time locating perps or interviewing witnesses. Most of these monsters are created by their parent's lifestyles who would rather do drugs and drink rather than try to move up in the world and try to do better for themselves. The parents don't interact with them except to scream at them, don't supervise them, don't hold them accountable...basically there's no love or any mention of God at all in the household. In the homes I visted where the parents were God fearing people it had a huge impact. Less criminal behaviof, better behaved, more respectful, more likelihood of the father being there to discipline the children which really is the key with black culture when it ones down to whether you create monsters ir not.

My point is this - until the children AND their parents are punished for their children's acions, until God enters their home, until they are held accountable mothing will change. Or you can just keep filling up jail cells with black perps until the cows come home. Jail is not the solution; its like putting a bandage on a gushing artery. The fear of real punishment, holding the parents accountable for their children's behavior / actions, and God entering their lives is the only way real change will affected.
