They’re just making arrests now, almost 44 years later ?
I remember the Saville report. Funny thing was it was supposed to be treated as historical and not to be used for prosecution. The folks testifying were supposedly granted immunity from such.
There were a few holdouts on the RUC side that would not provide testimony and Saville chided them for not providing information that would possibly contribute to an understanding of the events of the day.
Guess they made the right call after all...
Interesting
A link to the full Saville report. Interesting stuff.

The cops must have heard U2’s Sunday Bloody Sunday, one too many times and made the arrest in hopes of never hearing that or any other U2 song again.
If I remember correctly, weren’t there IRA provocateurs who opened fire briefly on the British troops from one side, which started the shooting by the British?started the firing.
It is true that those who ended up being shot were unarmed, but if memory serves, the British soldiers were provoked by individuals who them immediately faded away, probably om order to provoke the outcome that occurred.
The IRA was a bloodthirsty lot, and they had little compunction in sacrificing innocents to achieve their aims.
Ridiculous
