MARKSVILLE — Police body camera video shows the father of a 6-year-old autistic boy had his hands up and posed no threat as police opened fire, severely wounding the motorist and killing the boy, the man's lawyer said Monday.
"This was not a threatening situation for the police," said Mark Jeansonne, the attorney for Chris Few, who remained hospitalized, missing the family's funeral for 6-year-old Jeremy Mardis.
Jeansonne spoke with The Associated Press after a closed hearing for the two marshals. He said the judge ordered both held on $1 million bond. Derrick Stafford, 32, of Mansura and Derrick Greenhouse Jr., 23, of Marksville each is charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
The lawyer said he still hasn't seen the video, but its contents were described to the judge during the hearing.
He also said that while Few's condition is improving, he has not yet been told that his son died at the scene.

It will be held up to the same scrutiny as any other evidence in court. One person’s account (not under oath or without analysis and rebuttal from the other side) is not how we convict people in this country.

Yes, one of them was charged with rape, although I believe he was acquitted. They really both look like a couple of criminals.
Wow, if that’s true, just wow. They wanted to murder they guy, and they almost did. And they murdered a little boy. That is just so messed up. Why did they think they’d get away with this? They must not have known the kid was in the car. Now they are screwed.

Nope, it is not. And from the way that video is being described the charges should be upgraded to first degree murder with malice (or whatever the state of LA considers a capital offence which would demand the death penalty)!!!

I noticed something on the news reports today. On many of the photos of the cops some had their skin color very light and others had their color as what it was.
This is not an accident.
