DHS reportedly botched digitization of immigration docs Never autoplay videos
A Department of Homeland Security agency spent more than $1 billion in taxpayer money to digitize immigration paperwork -- and after a decade of work, only has managed to put one document online.
The Washington Post reported Monday that officials at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services still are only able to offer a single form -- out of nearly 100 -- for online applications, and make a single fee payable electronically.
All other forms can still only be filed with paper.

You can create digital “fill in the blank” forms out of paper forms with any decent scanner and a copy of Adobe Acrobat software. It would take no more than a couple of days to digitize 100 forms. Total cost under $1K

Well, you know all those getaways for the purpose of training to do the work do cost money. President Trump needs to start construction of several new supermax prisons immediately after the inauguration to hold the kind of people who are responsible for these travesties. The only way to stop this kind of theft is with some really long jail terms coupled with the confiscation of pensions and bank accounts.
I bet they didn’t “botch” it. I bet they probably drained off all the money to personal accounts and anti-right leftist activist groups, and that that was the plan all along.
I suspect there is a whole new batch of billionaires living high on the hog these days thanks to all these government contracts to shady liberal contractors over the past six years. Yacht sales have probably been booming.

It is far cheaper to delay the immigration of all of those people who have to go through the process with paper, than it is to make the process more efficient. We honestly could not ask for a better result...
...though I could have been just as stupidly inefficient for a mere $500 million, thereby saving the taxpayers (or, more accurately, their grandchildren) quite a tidy sum. I hereby volunteer my services for the next digitization project for the Feds (payment required up front).
