I sucessfully dealt with BPH using saw Palmetto from 2007 until 2014. I'm a runner and didn't like taking the usual meds. My PSA has always been lower than 1. Not an issue.
After a persistant bout of prostatitus, my urologist suggested green light laser surgery (PVP) - but first, a biopsy.
Biopsy was negative and I had the surgery last May. Painless. I consider myself about 80%-85% back to normal.
It's really nice only getting up once (sometimes 2x) in the middle of the night :)

Good for you. Keep up on the PSA checks because even a 1.0 should be monitored at least once per year.
