Southern Coalition for Social Justice senior staff attorney Daryl Atkinson appeared Saturday as a guest on MSNBCâs âMelissa Harris-Perryâ to talk President Obamaâs executive order to âban the box,â which refers to the section on a job application for criminal history.
According to Atkinson, people with a criminal background âface legal discrimination in many areas of lifeâ
âThe presidentâs action on Monday really affirms values that we hold dear in this country. Values like inclusion and equal opportunity for all people because people with records face legal discrimination in many areas of life. The 65 million Americans, one in three adult Americans, that have criminal record history, face barriers in employment, housing, education; even volunteering in their childrenâs school.â
âBecause African-Americans and Latinos are disproportionately represented in the criminal justice system, it results in the social and economic exclusion similar to the Jim Crow South,â he added

Liberalism is a cancer on society just as criminals are a cancer on society.
This is nothing new. The left pulled the race card in support of letting criminals get away with murder in the past. They are just doing it again.

unfortunately, it's widespread now days now days to simply toss CV's with large gaps even with a valid reason such as yours before you get a chance to say you were raising children
Notice how the word used is discrimination, not prejudice. They cannot use prejudice because this is post justice. No one is mentioning paid their debt to society, because many times the time served is only part of the sentence and if it is a monetary fine or restitution they are not considered by those with a liberal attitude about crime.
