Once again the corporate media tars a conservative candidate and those who should know better rush in without waiting at least 24 hours for the half-truths and lies to unravel. This week the target was Dr. Ben Carson and the reason and charge were patent: He’s a Black Republican so obviously honest and sincere the media wolves tried to knock him out of contention by claiming he lied. This time I’ll spare those pundits who fell for it. If you are a naïve dummy, someone ought to point that out publicly. Fair warning -- next time I won’t hold back. You can’t attack the media as dishonest most days and then uncritically accept -- even for a few hours -- their “bombshellsâ€. Keep your skeptic’s hat on for heaven’s sake. On the one hand there’s what I call “the white toga†conservatives who flee their colleague’s side as soon as the wolves approach to prove their own spotless moral perfection. On the other hand there are the conservatives who fall for every claim against their own even when they should know better. It almost makes you wish you were a Democrat whose media pals emulate Helen Keller at even the strongest proofs of wrongdoing. (Hillary didn’t drool or faint during her Congressional appearance even though caught out in big lies so they say she nailed it, for example.)
This week the fools rushed in -- if however briefly -- when both CNN and Politico attacked Dr. Ben Carson.

The left just ignores dirt on their candidates, even if it is true, they circle the wagons. Of course, they have the MSM on their side.
Think now, Hillary has had one phony debate that was planned to make her look good.
Our side subjects itself to a nauseating amount of these stupid debates with too many people.
While we have to bash our candidates and the candidates have to fight each other just to weed the field, Hillary gets a free pass and is already running for POTUS.

That’s apparently some new Free Republic update which changes quotation marks, etc., to odd symbols. Very annoying.
I understand they’re working on it. The temporary fix is to delete apostrophes and quotation marks from text that has been copied and then type them back in.

Good comparison. We might say it was "Borking" if he was being attacked for his political positions. However, given that his political positions are quite mainstream, they're left to exaggerate or fabricate an issue out of something in his life.

What you can do is copy the text to Notepad and do a Change All.
Also, judicious use of the "Preview" button. When I quoted your post, it messed up your apostrophe. I had to fix it.

I'm checking my preview more carefully these days, too.
But why are you picking on this poster for a problem everyone posting at FR is experiencing? He’s free to add to the caption as others do, without having to correct an error that’s within the FR system. Thread after thread after thread contains the same problem without everyone fixing it.
I was expressing an opinion, in a roundabout manner, about putting comments in the title. I am very annoyed by that. I suppose we’ll be getting “trigger warnings” any day now, as if we are not competent to read an article and decide what we think about it on our own.
