When I was in private practice, I had my diplomas/certificates on the wall and every award I had been given. When I retired, those came to my house - oh, the horror of it all.

What many here are itching to say, but are afraid to, is: “uppity black man”. As if anyone here wouldn’t display like honors.
In the Army we called that an “I love me” wall. Festooning one’s office with plaques & certs was fine, especially for the commander.
