â¢Dozens of Yale students encircled a professor after he said he would not stop people from wearing offensive Halloween costumes â¢College master said he would not stand in the way of free speech and told offended people to 'look away' or challenge those wearing them â¢Video shows one young woman's fury at the professor, telling him to 'shut the f*** up' and that he should not sleep at night
This video shows the moment dozens of students encircled a Yale University official and screamed at him for sending an email telling them to ignore people dressed in offensive Halloween costumes.
Nicholas Christakis, the master of Silliman College at Yale, was surrounded after telling students to allow others to exercise free speech by wearing what they wanted on Halloween.
He was shouted down on Thursday as he tried to explain why he believed students should be able to wear what they want, with one young woman yelling at him and telling him to 'shut the f*** up'.

Over-educated hothouse pansies who think they have the right to be protected from viewing or hearing anything that offends them or anything they just plain do not like.
The idea that others may have freedom of speech and action never occurs to them.
I agree. The students were exercising their school-indoctrinated, Peter Pan privileges without responsibilities rights.
I was at a local costume shop before Halloween, a place that has thousands upon thousands of costumes. I picked up one and it took me a minute to figure out what it was: A pink suit, pink pillbox hat, bloodstains all over the front. It was the suit Jackie Kennedy was wearing when John was shot. I wonder if the little wimps would be offended by that one?
My tax money should not go to any higher institution institution that does not allow “free speech”.
NONE.
Yes, I know that in Elementary, and Secondary schools the Courts have found that there are some limits..esp. as to
publications paid for by the taxpayers of the district.
My tax money should not go to kill babies.
Nowadays I think parochial colleges are the only way to go, as far as any solid learning or veneration of the Western canon. If the news is to be believed -- although comedian Seinfeld confirmed it -- the secular campuses nowadays are paranoid nuthouses.
What's scary to me -- these people might just vote Sanders into office. Their thinking is all emotions, no logic.
We’re producing an entire generation (or two) of special snowflakes who don’t know how to converse without being a victim or profane (or both). But they have high self esteem...
Jacobins, Hitler Youth, Red Guards, they’re all pretty much the same, except that Mom and Dad are paying $60,000+ per year to Yale to propagandize these little beasts. Yale is supposed to require pretty close to 800 on the verbal SAT, and that little brat is swearing like a stevedore. Talk about being educated beyond one’s capacity!
Cage theory ping.
Their high schools ( three months ago ) wouldn't have put up with their nonsense for a minute..
How these scatterbrains were EVER considered for Yale, I can't imagine....a community college, MAYBE, an institution of higher learning....NEVER.
....does anyone else see a bunch of irony here?
Surely the students at Yale see it??????
There’s the your future America.
Thanks for not caring. :)
Is that a 'microagression'? Or a 'trigger'?
Liberals are soooooooo fragile...
... and nuts.
Amen... not one dime. We've come full circle on this one.
Used to be a time when these pansies got their butts kicked. Now they screech and we’re supposed to just take it.
I wonder what they would do if folks started treating them the same way they treat those who offend them - because they surely offend a lot of normal folks....
