The Obama administration is sending a new message to people on the Obamacare e-mail list. Sign up for health insurance by December 15 or face big fines.

“Important,” the new email warns subscribers. “The penalty for not having health insurance is increasing. If you don’t sign up for coverage, you’ll risk having to pay $695 per person or more for the year.”

Since the new enrollment period is in session, email messages from the Obamacare website have increased urging more people to sign up for coverage or face fines. When asked about the fines faced by Americans without insurance, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that he was unaware of any plans to reduce the penalties.

“I’m not aware of any plans to change the penalties that would be levied,” Earnest said, during the daily press briefing reminding reporters that some people would be fined more for not having health insurance than the actual the cost of health insurance itself.

You don’t have to pay the fine if you don’t file a tax return. And that’s just what a lot of people are going to be doing.

The folks that can get away with that aren't paying anyway.

The rest of the People who actually earn a living need to make sure they owe money because, unless something changed, they can only collect if one is owed a refund which they will confiscate. If you owe them, just pay what you owe w/o adding the fineextortion.

First let me say that the earlier poster that said you have to provide proof of church membership to join is not correct.
I don’t want to be a part of a plan that Muslims could also use. No way for me. You are helping others as well as yourself.
As far as why Medi-Share? The research that I did back when I first enrolled 12 years or so ago pointed to a nearly 100% sharing rate for needs. The claims that weren’t paid were in conflict with their stated policies.
Medi-Share does not pay for problems that are a result of a sinful lifestyle such as promiscuity, sodomy, illegal drug use, alcohol abuse, etc.
I have never been disappointed in the coverage and concern that they have for my families well being.

Liberty Health Share is the only one that will accept all religions and don’t ask you to belong to a church. The others do and are very strict about it and ask for proof. That’s why I signed up with Liberty Health Share instead of the others because I can’t swear or prove that I go to church every Sunday even though I am catholic.

Yeah, I'm Catholic also and we aren't accustomed to having the priest sign an attendance record! I did read the prospective for one of the plans and they were adamant you needed the proof once a year.

Interesting. I'm pretty sure that Jesus would expect you, as a Christian, to help anyone in medical need. What is your Christian background?

I wrote and was clearly responding to “have to” as opposed to “may”.

Can you understand the difference? The poster was asking for anyone who has experience with the listed organizations and I have that experience.
Once you apply they may feel the need to verify your Christanity. I would suppose this would be done for someone with a questionable past.

As to your comment “interesting” and then your seemingly questioning my “Christianity” I’ll only respond with this; I am a Christian which means I appeal only to Christ’s righteousness for my salvation. There is no one and nothing between me and Him. Being a Catholic I can see how you wouldn’t understand that.
