A former top adviser to Scott Walker has joined former rival Ted Cruz's campaign, the latest move by Cruz to bring Walker's biggest backers into his fold.
David Polyansky, a senior strategist for Walker in Iowa -- a state where Walker led for most of his campaign before his rapid fall this summer -- has joined Cruz's bid in a top role, he said Friday. Polyansky will work out of the campaign's headquarters in Houston, where he also lives, and advise the campaign on policy and communications.

Hmmm, not so sure picking up advisors to losing campaigns is such a great idea. If their advice is so good...
That’s like hiring the Titanic’s chief iceberg lookout
I think the lookout did his job. He reported what he saw.
Too bad the ship did not have watertight compartments,
enough lifeboats, or fire and boat drills prior to departure.
Welcome to the party pal.
The “concerns” about who opposing candidates pick up is standard primary season fare.
Its weak but standard sauce.
Taking on the top advisor of the first loser...There’s just some things I don’t understand about politics...
Ditto.
Another victory for Cruz. I heard almost every campaign was trying to land this guy. If say Ted has this about locked up at this point, but I don’t want to get cocky.
I guess that means Cruz has given up on wanting to be president. Too bad. he was doing okay up until this.
Reagan did exactly the same thing when he took Bush I on as his VP. He locked up the conservatives then went about rounding up the rest of the lost souls to score two big victories.
No one is jumping from Cruz’ campaign to go to others. No one is jumping from these other candidate's campaigns and NOT going to Cruz.
I'm as conservative as anyone here, but if you think only conservatives can elect Cruz in the national sense (certainly we can within the primary), then you are being very shortsighted.
Cruz it or lose it.
I will not be surprised if he takes the prize. He certainly knows how to build a ground game.
Slow and steady, building an organization, strengthening coalitions, doing the work necessary to win.
“Top Walker strategist joins Cruz’s campaign”
And that’s a good thing because Walker’s campaign was run so well, right?
You misinterpret.
Cruz has done a good job up until now, avoiding the standard campaign mistakes that come with using the standard big money Republican consultants.
This new hire looks like a deviation from that excellent precedent and is therefore a worrisome sign.
PING
Walker’s top Iowa advsor signs on wit Cruz campaign.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
That assumes three things:
- That Walker took their advice.
- That Cruz will follow bad advice.
- That they have no other value and can't contribute by helping with the organization and development of Cruz's campaign IAW his game plan.
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader.....
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
