I am not a big Carson Fan but this one is silly. On a scale of 1 to 10 considering Hillary’s outright lies on what went on in Benghazi, her dodging snipers in Kosovo, and etc., etc, etc... Hillary gets an 11 and Carson gets a .5. For a surgeon he actually seems to be very humble.
When I got my scholarship, I was given a letter....
Or (to fit the sardonic mood) you’d almost THINK that...
I am on that thread. I read the source doc.
What’s special about #1?
Just askin’
Another publication soils its britches.
The point was Carson either interpreted Westmoreland’s encouragement as a scholarship (fully paid with stipend) or used scholarship to explain paid education.
It is a scholarship of sorts:
Dictionary.com
a sum of money or other aid granted to a student, because of merit, need, etc., to pursue his or her studies.
In a way yeah... we sometimes boil this down to the level of one ball team scoring against another ball team, forgetting that the only entity that could plausibly be an earthly referee, and the one TELLING us about it, is instead sold out to one of the teams.
Hey, I work in an environment where political correctness is everywhere and accusations of racism are made for any reason or no reason at all.
I use both terms interchangeably.
My, oh my...
Imagine this SAME media - looking this thoroughly into candidate OBAMAS past back in ‘07 and ‘08...
WHO CARES????? Can we focus on something substantive for a change, instead of parsing every single Republican utternace for some shadow of impropriety? You have Bill Clinton, who was a provable liar, and Barack Obama, who can’t move his lips without lying, and Hillary, who ... well, who’s Hillary. And somehow they manage to escape this micro-scrutiny. Can we leave the witch hunt behind and look at some ISSUES???
For the picky, that could be ambiguous (are you speaking of indigenous Africans or of people like the Boers). If someone is identified in Europe as “American” this is quite possibly not what we know as an “Indian.”
At this point, do we even know that he actually met with or was introduced to General Westmoreland?
Anyone that knows anything about USMA and reading Carson’s book would recognize something hinky about the way he describes it (being offered a “scholarship”).
Could have, could have....
Why did he even bring the subject matter up? I am beginning to have my doubts about the guy. This affair is going to bite him in the butt. Doesn’t he know that Putin probably knows more about him than the MSM does?
We are watching another virtual lynching of a Conservative Black.
Pray America wakes
Maybe to get some perspective back in the picture, conservative news organs ought to start going after “Hillary’s LITTLE lies.” The irony being implied.
I see all the Carson white guilters are still in denial.
They’ll forgive him for supporting amnesty, supporting more gun control, having a Farrakhan supporter on his staff, and announcing he has the same goals as Al Sharpton. Why would a simple embellishment of his JUNIOR ROTC days matter.
Turns out the liar is Politico not Carson. Another embarrassing accusation for you to retract.
At the end of my twelfth grade I marched at the head of the Memorial Day parade. I felt so proud, my chest bursting with ribbons and braids of every kind. To make it more wonderful, We had important visitors that day. Two soldiers who had won the Congressional Medal of Honor in Viet Nam were present. More exciting to me, General William Westmoreland (very prominent in the Viet Nam war) attended with an impressive entourage. Afterward, Sgt. Hunt introduced me to General Westmoreland, and I had dinner with him and the Congressional Medal winners. Later I was offered a full scholarship to West Point. I didnââ¬â¢t refuse the scholarship outright, but I let them know that a military career wasn;t where I saw myself going.
“Carson either interpreted Westmorelandâs encouragement as a scholarship (fully paid with stipend) or used scholarship to explain paid education.”
Also, Dr. Carson as the leading ROTC student in Detroit was told by his Commanders that he could get an Appointment to West Point.
Because it got mentioned in an under the table context, it wasn’t a real “scholarship.”
OK, Ben could say picky point granted, it would have been better to have spelled out the context, for all intents and purposes Ben then knew he could have had it if he had gone for it. Even the liberals ought to know this, here is what they view as AA fodder with a sterling record and he’s as rare as hen’s teeth. Talk about turning a molehill into Mt. Everest.
