It costs U.S. taxpayers nearly $65,000 to resettle one Middle Eastern refugee over the first five years, which is 12 times what it would cost to care for that same refugee in a neighboring country in the region, according to a new study.
The Center for Immigration Studies cites âheavy welfare useâ as the main reason why refugees are so costly to resettle. This flies in the face of oft-quoted comments by U.S. mayors who claim refugees add to their tax base and promote economic growth, making for a more âculturally diverseâ and âeconomically resilientâ city.

That explains why a private college in my town has said it wants to take in some of them.
Flight to country of origin ... $1500
Parachute ... $500

How many are named “Mohammed”?
What could possibly go wrong?
It was be a bargain to give them food and 10 grand and send them all back.
“Taxpayer bill to resettle 35,000 Mideast refugees: $2.3 billion ($65k each!)”
While our 2 bit political hack “leaders” tell us social security is bankrupt and they have to cut back on Medicare.
Why waste a parachute?
And they just robbed 150 billion from Social Security. Seniors getting the shaft for these savages.
And just what law was passed by Congress that allows the confiscation of taxpayer money to this end?
That is what the GOP need to zero in on.
I wish Trump was talking about this, not who would be a better host of SNL.
I bought a surplus parachute off Ebay for a hundred or so. Whether it works or not, I have no idea. I’m not a skydiver and no plans to be one. I bought it for something to have. It weighs a ton.

Call me, I can help improve your profit margin.
What does it matter, as the paraphrase goes? when the country is (officially) $18T+ (unofficially @ $120T+)...what’s another $2.3B added to the tally?
I mean, if the People haven’t gotten pissed of the fraud, waste, inefficiency and outright illegality....what’s different THIS time?
“”It costs U.S. taxpayers nearly $65,000 to resettle one Middle Eastern refugee over the first five years,””
They say it’s a FIVE YEAR figure. Don’t ask me why they worded it this way - another article about the same subject spoke about “families” - whatever the reason for the wording, you can bet your bottom dollar it’s to hide the true facts! No one is going to tell us how many members they figure in one family!
How long are we going to put up with this? Where’s our line in the sand?
