I was listening to a conversation at a church between two men. One of the men was teasing about women to the other man. He was talking about how women need to have so many shoes. Why is it, that women need to have so many shoes? They have to have about 80 pairs of shoes he says. The other man says...Well, that’s why I’ve not been married for 20 years! I said to that man, you haven’t been married because you don’t want to deal with women’s shoes??? All in good fun of course.
Men have their ‘’thing’’ too. They simply need to insult one another, though as a woman, I’m not sure why that is. You see, the two men above are acquainted with each other, and I’d given them both a ride to that church. When rider no.2 entered the vehicle, he greeted rider number one with “Hey ugly!” And rider number one tossed a good natured insult right back.
So, when I see this particular group of politicians insulting each other, it just sounds so like a group of men friends who simply must insult each other! The exception to that was when Bush tried to shame the senator for not being at congressional meetings often enough (the recent cnbc debate). THAT particular attack was NOT good natured as most of the attacks between the other candidates have been.
Usually, political insults are clearly mean spirited and are intended to harm the other guy, but I’ve not seen a whole lot of that among this particular group. MOST of it has been the guy thing of insulting the guys. Some of it has been rather amusing, really.
Carson was clearly traumatized when he was in school as he keeps referring back to it.
All in all however, I can’t remember when I’ve enjoyed the banter between candidates as I have with this current group of ‘contestants’. It almost seems like a team effort to see who can banter the best!
I think it’s pretty funny. Real guys just talk a lot of trash. Women should just learn to leave them alone IMO and lighten up a bit.
“All in all however, I canât remember when Iâve enjoyed the banter between candidates as I have with this current group of âcontestantsâ. “
I think you’re right - it’s not done in a condescending way, more of a joking way. I’ve heard Trump say over and over what a great guy Carson is and that he really likes him. That wink at the last debate showed some sort of connection between the two.
