2ND UPDATE, 7:29 PM: “Grade school” tactic is how Ben Carson describes the NBC SNL promo in which Donald Trump calls Carson “a complete and total loser.”

“I discovered, when I was in grade school, that those tactics really are for grade school. And I’ve gone far beyond that now,” Carson said, when asked to comment on the promo NBC News correspondent Peter Alexander said the network posted “accidentally.”

Hardly think it would be worth 5K for a cast member -based on future earnings and if in the right situation would you want Trump and his lawyers after ‘YOUR’ ass - slight bit of difference were it in the script.

I don’t see where Trump showing on this particular show would ‘help’ any way.....

Seems like ALL the pols are using TV as a ‘sort of’ free launching pad. Thought there used to be a ‘rule’ that you couldn’t invite one candidate if you didn’t invite them all?

OTOH, the Libs get their shorts in a bind when the R’s appear on Rush or ‘talk’ radio, then they clamor to ‘shut it down’ for being bias - forget that BO wouldn’t show up on Limbaugh for a 3rd term.

Trump trusting SNL is insanity.

Trump not being afraid of SNL is part of what folks like about him - no telling what sort of ink is drying to insure some amount of back protection from sharp objects...

Trump already hosted SNL once in 2004, so I'm sure he knows what he's getting himself into.

If he wants to appear "presidential" and harken back to another NBC comedy sketch show, he should say "Sock it to me?"

I think you’re right - it’s not done in a condescending way, more of a joking way. I’ve heard Trump say over and over what a great guy Carson is and that he really likes him. That wink at the last debate showed some sort of connection between the two.

But that weird stuff on the other thread about what Carson believes about pyramids is really off.

I agree, as we find tombs inside, but not old grain. However, I do not see how his personal belief that they were grain stores affects what kind of president he would be one way or the other.

I remember when Reagan was president, the bad guys picked up on a conversation that he and Interior Secretary James Watt had, considering the possibility that we were entering the End Times, and mocking both for it. They may have been right, they may have been mistaken. They both did their job well.

I saw on CNN this morning that they talked to friends and neighbors of Carson from his youth, and none of them remember him knifing anybody or throwing rocks. They described him as bookish and quiet.

One of them was quoted as saying he was shocked to read it in Carson’s book (which came out in 1990 IIRC).

I know it’s CNN, but still.

If only CNN had been this interested in Obama’s past in 2008! (e.g., no one remembers him at Columbia)

Sorry, no I don’t blame Trump, just hearing the the term “loser” thrown around after this experience just brings up bad memories. It’s funny when Trump does it, not so funny when a sicko does it.
