LEE'S SUMMIT, MO (KCTV) -
Two teenagers have been arrested in the brutal stabbing death of a 43-year-old Leeâs Summit woman.
This comes after police released surveillance video on Tuesday of the 13- and 14-year-old suspects. Formal charges are pending with Jackson County Family Court.
The victim has been identified as Tanya L. Chamberlain. Police said they are not releasing whether or how the suspects knew Chamberlain.
The discovery of her body came after Lee's Summit police attempted to stop a vehicle about 1:15 a.m. Sunday for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The driver of the vehicle pulled into a parking lot of an apartment complex in the 500 block of Southeast Second Street.
Two men then fled on foot from the vehicle. The officer engaged in a short foot pursuit before losing sight of both suspects.
As the officer returned to the suspect vehicle, he discovered Chamberlain's body in the passenger seat. After working the case overnight, investigators determined Chamberlain had been murdered.

[it’s not the lies they tell, it’s the truth they hide.]
Amen, brother.
Another reason liberals want to choke the internet.
I wish that poor woman had shot these THUGS before they murdered her.
Any liberal out there that is offended, GOOD.

Two more of Obama’s sons kill an innocent white woman.
With a few modifications, I almost agree with that quote:
Regardless of their race, the victims and potential victims of these young murderers deserve some serious protection and help. Who knows what this poor woman’s story entails.
Yes this was tragic, YES this woman was killed, and YES she did not in any way deserve this. That is why it is a disservice to all men and women who might become future victims of these THUGS to pretend that they are mere children, confused youngsters who need nothing more than guidance and support to right their wrong.
Prayers for the victim’s family and prayers for the families of the attackers as well - that they will learn and choose productive lives instead of thug lives, before they cross that line.
Be a village and love your neighbor, in a manner that is genuinely loving. There is no more loving response than to protect the hundreds of thousands of innocents who are afraid to leave their homes, by locking up the thugs who create that fear.
Old enough to kill? Old enough to rape? Old enough to execute.
Works for me.
Look up-thread - I linked to some articles posted earlier this year. More stories of murder, and in both articles, violent rape of their victims prior.
Same stats.
It’s really getting to be Russian Roulette residing anywhere that you have to live in proximity to, drive through, use the same facilities & infrastructure as these ferals.
How many of the whites killing blacks are in self defense?
#TheseBlackLivesDon’tMatter
Guess we have to start watching out for 13- and 14-year-olds now.
But then, some politicians put out poison for minds like these.
I did not guess that the victim was white (I often block pictures to save bandwidth). I guessed that the thugs were urban but not necessarily a particular ethnic group. Regardless of that innocent woman’s race, and regardless of the thug murderers’ race, my conclusion is the same: Life without parole for the killers. It’s the only moral option, since it is the only reliable protection for other innocents who might have to face these thugs if they are ever released.
They took a life!!
And eye for an eye!
Death to both of them!!
Why should they live??
Why should they continue to have life? After what they did??
No....it's NOT the only moral option.
From the comments section...
“However, it is a disservice to all young men and women to say that they are ‘THUGS’ or anything else, they are children, who need guidance and support to right their wrong.”
I need to know if it is possible to ‘right their wrong’.
I’m dealing with a somewhat similar situation.
My first instinct is to be George and take Lennie for a walk in the woods,
yet the familial relation and my love of the Creator
leads me to think I have some responsibility both to ensure it never happens again
and to help guide the offender to a productive life in spite of the heavy guilt being carried.
Is there any hope of redemption, of atonement for a grievous act such as this?
It twists my insides that the victim’s family has forgiven the perpetrator,
but I can’t seem to find forgiveness in my own heart.
What is my responsibility? Is there hope? How can I ever forgive or trust this person?
I wouldn't shed a tear if they died due to their own stupidity in prison, but the death penalty is not an option for murderers under age 18. The Supremes have already spoken on that issue.
Until we get a real president who replaces the aging liberal judicial activists on the Court with Justices who read the Constitution, your far more appropriate choice is not an option.
I am not sure I would feel any different regardless of race. It is damned heinous.
Crazy.
You said...and I said nothing about the law. It's NOT the only moral option.
