Just like the midterms one year ago, it was another awful night for Democrats. Republican Matt Bevin won a big upset in the Kentucky governors race. Democrats failed to pick up Virginias state Senate. Houstons Equal Rights Ordinance, designed to protect the rights of gay citizens and others, failed by a wide margin. Ohio rejected marijuana legalization by a two-to-one margin. Even in San Francisco, the sheriff who steadfastly defended the citys sanctuary city policy went down.

Conservatives have been doing well for years at the local and state level. It’s the creeps in the GOP at the national level who are making sure we get nothing in exchange for our votes.
Republicans have to win in 2016.

We gave them both houses of Congress, yet the crooks like McConnell and Boehner made sure it was for nothing.
And we should welcome any awakening that is bestowed upon them. That said; some people just ain't worth reaching out to. We will leave them to BLM and Islamonazis and let them stew in their own juices.

Very soon. As a matter of fact Right Now! As an FR naysayer of some repute, rest assured that this election matters little in the grand scheme, and yes if you’re looking to do something useful and positive, you definitely should stay home.
The problem with voting for so-called conservatives is not whether you win the silly popularity contests, the problem is whether the people you elect will deliver anything that remotely resembles conservatism. Fortunately we have years and years of actual evidence to show that the elections are one thing, follow through quite another.
I’m glad they’re waking up, I just wish it could have happened long ago.

The point is that the person I was responding to is jumping up and down saying “See? See? Voting works and all you people who didn’t vote for Romney suck!”
He is exactly what I said he was even before the 2008 election. Ironically he did not really hide it, anyone who really paid attention to what he himself said would have come to the same conclusion that “Crazy” Alan Keyes came to.
The following comments by Keyes were uploaded to you tube about a month after Obama’s inaugaration. A lot of people who thought Keyes was crazy then probably think now that he understated the danger.

You're perfectly correct that we should not be relaxing from here on out. But above is the incorrect part, just by definition: We poured the foundation in a bunch of places. Can't do anything without that, so it is indeed an accomplishment. Workmen are standing there, getting their breath and cleaning up. It needs to be recognized and celebrated. Of course, the houses still need to be built. Good to mention that, especially with strategy notes to put on a calendar—I'd be very interested in those myself.
There is indeed a chorus of those on FR—and I'm not necessarily tarring you with this—whose main contribution is to say, "Don't get your hopes up!" and they leave it at that, other than to point out all the folks they won't be voting for on one principle or the other. Which I may agree with in particular cases. But that's not the point.
Whoever is spending a lot of energy trying to keep folks' hopes down and cussing failed candidates of the past, doesn't have a plan. We need a plan and persistent, spirited follow-up on the part of as many of us as possible, or we won't have the sweeping, long-lasting changes we need. We need more officers and fewer grousing privates. Honi soit qui mal y pense. Loosely translated: "If the shoe fits . . ."

I read that Bevin is only the second Republican to be elected governor in Kentucky in almost 50 years. Plus, Kentucky’s new Lt. Gov. is a conservative black woman. So, I count these two wins as somewhat surprising.
Most here at FR were calling him a major race baiting radical piece of sh!t before the elections.
I think more people at FR are readers and researchers of the news and all here knew about Barry from the start.
It appears that Michael George (Rat-Pa) was endorsed by the NRA.
My agenda, to the extent that there is one, is seeing conservatism and freedom in my lifetime. Voting has proven to be an incredibly crappy way to accomplish that. Conservatives continue to show up at the polls in large numbers election after election. And what do we have to show for it?
Is the budget balanced?
Is infanticide illegal?
Is the debt being reduced?
Are our borders being protected?
In the long run, the success or failure of any strategy is shown in its end results. We have ample evidence that voting for conservatism doesn’t work. Perhaps you have evidence to the contrary? Some overlooked victory? If so, please feel free to share.

Colorado just suffered two major country defeats for school board as the Republican party once again failed to support Republican candidates and allowed the unions and socialist school lobbies to recall three conservatives in Jefferson County and three more in Douglas county.
Along with that, the once conservative Douglas county just held outer lying areas hostage and threatened to remove fire departments if they did not agree to a major tax increase, and the voters approve that tax increase.
I think it is a victory but Pyrrhic. The turnout was low. Low always equals conservative.
For the presidential election the come out in droves and stack the deck. The electronic voting machines make the vote whatever the dims that run them want the outcome to be.
They just toy with the off cycle elections because only running for dictator matters.
We already have a socialist in the whitehouse.
That being said, maybe the electability issue needs to be revisited in this light.
