LOUISVILLE (AP) - Here is a look at Kentucky's top races in Tuesday's general election, from the contest for governor at the top of the ticket to down-ballot races for statewide offices:
GOVERNOR
Democrat Jack Conway and Republican Matt Bevin square off in the race to become Kentucky's next governor in a pivotal off-year election. The winner succeeds Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear, who could not seek re-election because of term limits. The campaign turned into a referendum on President Barack Obama's signature health care law. Outgoing Gov. Steve Beshear used an executive order to expand the state's Medicaid program to cover an additional 400,000 Kentucky residents and create a health exchange, where more than 100,000 people have purchased discounted health plans with the help of federal subsidies. Bevin, a Louisville businessman, has promised to scale back the expansion and eliminate the exchange, saying taxpayers can't afford it. Conway, the state's two-term attorney general, has called Bevin's plan "callous" and said he would keep both programs. Independent candidate Drew Curtis was also on the ballot for governor.

Yeah. I think it's pretty well established that liberals are presidential election year voters.
I’d really be curious to know how what one would presume to be politically active (or at least aware) Conservatives would ever equate Bevin with the GOPe.
Bowling Green has a big recent immigrant population, doesn’t it?
“Weather is beautiful in Bowling Green.”
Bowling Green is always beautiful because that’s where they build Corvettes!!!
Go Bevin!!!
A heartening story! Conservatives are finally catching on that voting is counterproductive.
You can pick any minor task, be it rearranging your sock drawer or doing the dishes and it’ll be time far better spent.
Thanks for the good info.
If Bevin doesn’t win he has no one to blame but himself.
Low turnout usually means good news for conservatives....The brain dead aren’t being bussed in.....
I agree, but the (R) in front of his name held as much disdain in their eyes as a (D) would after all the GOP, treachery.
By the way, it is election day in VA as well.
McConnell was busy helping Conway behind-the-scenes (as is McConnell’s M.O.)
Conway ran an unbelievable litany of ads that were direct copy-cats of the same ads McConnell ran against Bevin, just changed the actors to two old rednecks talking pie and how evil Bevin is.
Same crap. Different year.
Except the locals lap it up like flies to poop.
If Bevin wins or loses, get ready for a big Democrat win in LA on Nov. 21 to replace the unpopular Bobby Jindal.
No esults yet
Current LA polls show the Democrat leading for governor, 52-38. Election is Nov. 21.
blaming the evil mitch mcconnell, chamber of commerce, and jeb booish keeps the donations rolling in for certain pacs.
