Ben Carson has surged into the lead of the Republican presidential race, getting support from 29 percent of GOP primary voters, according to a brand-new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
That's the highest percentage any GOP candidate has obtained so far in the survey.
Carson's 29 percent is followed by Donald Trump at 23 percent, Marco Rubio at 11 percent, Ted Cruz at 10 percent and Jeb Bush at 8 percent. These findings are similar to a New York Times/CBS poll released last week, which also showed Carson in first place in the national GOP contest.

Too bad Fox is only mentioning the NBC poll tonight.
So now we have two with Trump in the lead. I want to see the same orgiastic response. Waiting . . .
So the loser at WSJ/NBCTeleMundo see Trump winning in the latest polls so they release it now instead of when it was completed? Yeah it sound like their punkish speed.
Al Sharpton will be so happy to have another Black President friend in the White house.
Sharpton is hoping he will have a president to protect him from the IRS. A president to have a JD that will prosecute police, go after people like Duke student, Zimmerman. People to ignore riots like Baltimore.
Carson is his budd.
Okay, with this level of surging support, Carson should start doing stadium appearances.
Let’s see it.
“they have to admit itâs mainly because heâs black, which they know in the back”
This has to be said. This country hasn’t had a lot of luck with black presidents. I think we should wait a hundred or so years to try it again...
And that's the essence of the matter, right there.
I seriously doubt Trump is doing it for the money he makes on the book.
Take out Trump so Rube can take out Carson . Good luck with that GOPe .
It is amazing how many church goers Carson has under his cloud of deception.
I doubt many of them know where he stands on the issues. I haven’t found a major issue yet that I agree with him on.
Carson would never beat Hillary.
I don’t believe the Carson fake polls.
No Trumpette here, but these polls are just going through a period of fluidity. Not much to be drawn from them.
I thought Trump said that all profits would go to “ wounded warriors “ / vets ?
Like everything else at NBC, this is suspect.
I have met several. They think he is a “moral man.” None speak of any particular policy position.
The problem is that you can't compare a PPP poll with a Monmouth poll, for example, and use the difference between the two to support a conclusion either way. They have different polling methods, different sample sizes and demographics, different analytical methods, etc. You are virtually comparing apples and oranges.
If you want to see how movement is trending, you can either compare different polls by the same companies (as I have done), or you can look a the polling averages of an aggregation of different polls, which helps show a trend without worrying about the specifics of any one poll. Using either methodology, the recent polling shows a movement toward Carson. That may change, but misrepresenting the results of these polls does little to enhance the credibility of those doing so.
So now we have two with Trump in the lead. I want to see the same orgiastic response. Waiting . . .
Both of those polls were already showing Trump in the lead - one is showing a slightly larger lead, the other is showing a significant decrease in his lead. But neither of them is showing a significant increase in support for Trump or loss of support for Carson...
From Hotair on previous poll
Carson takes the lead in latest NYT/CBS national poll on previous poll:
CBS notes that the MOE is 6%, which makes this a virtual dead heat. Itâs a subset of a larger poll, the full data for which will get released later when CBS and the Times wish to report on them.
Is this another subset of a larger poll, unreleased internals?
Hey Carson - Mannatech boo!
