nald Trump and his advisers have decided to work directly with television executives and take a lead role in negotiating the format and content of primary debates, which have become highly watched and crucial events in the 2016 race, according to Republicans familiar with their plans.
Trump plans to reject a joint letter to television network hosts regarding upcoming primary debates drafted Sunday at a private gathering of operatives from at least 11 presidential campaigns, the Republicans said.
The move by Trump, coming just hours after more than a dozen Republican strategists huddled in the Washington suburbs to craft a list of possible demands, effectively throttles an effort by the campaigns and the letterâs drafter, longtime GOP attorney Ben Ginsberg, to find consensus and work collectively to negotiate terms.

OH YES!!! That’s my main MAN!!! Has a mouth, uses it; has a backbone, uses it; has a brain, uses it!!!
OH this is the GREATEST news ever!!!
Can you just for one minute think about how he is going to upend the apple carts all over ‘sewer city’ and the House and the Senate and take on the foreign leaders!!!!
Oh man, I want the election TOMORROW!!!!
GO TRUMP ALL THE WAY TO THE OVAL OFFICE 2016!!!
Carson thought he was going to become..."The Big Leader" going into the workshop meeting. Guess he believed those phony stats.
Trump had a quick quip for Carson the other day...IIRC..."but he can't get it done".
The joint proposal sounded toothless to me, so holding out is warranted. OTOH, this could split the group. Trump should have cobbled together a group of front-runners before going it alone.
BOOM!!!!!!!
great. i think this suggests that trump is running his own independent campaign at this point. he’s setting new standards apart from the uniparty. i know he’s not a conservative, but he’s at least becoming independent of the gop that is a giant step in the right direction for us conservative independents. i hope cruz follows suit.
Trump should call Rinse Prebus and say “you’re fired”
And do it on live TV
Smart move on Trump’s part. He is the big draw. Without him the network won’t sell any advertising.
WE DON’T NEED NO STINKIN’ RNC !!!!
