Marco Rubio is exploding in a key early state [Trump 26%, Carson 16%, Rubio 13%]

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) is surging in a key early-voting state in the first major survey taken since last week's Republican debate.

A new Monmouth University poll released on Monday showed real-estate tycoon Donald Trump still dominating in the Republican primary, with 26% support among likely GOP primary voters. He was followed by retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who garnered 16% support in the same poll.

But Rubio has more-than tripled his support in the last month-plus. He has jumped from 4% support in September to 13% now, putting him just behind Carson.

Rubio led the other establishment-type candidates — including Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R), who came in fourth in the poll with 11%, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), who registered a distant sixth at just 7%.

The poll came on the heels of Rubio's widely praised performance during the third Republican debate.

I sure do hope you are right. Rubio has climbed in the polls a lot more than I am comfortable with. Staying at 4% would make me very happy.

He does nothing for me either but I have a pretty high bs detector. I wish everyone were immune.

Nobody cares about New Hampshire. They are generally out of step with the conservative states in the Nation.

Agreed and I think what that will do, is get a lot of votes from people that otherwise might have suported Hillary.

I know many 2 time Obama voters that don’t want to vote for Clinton. They’re looking for someone to cross over to. And his stance on immigration will likely appeal to just as many people - if not more - than those it will turn off.

How Rubio can poll above Cruz is a mystery to me.

New Hampshire is generally way more liberal than are the more conservative states.

“New Hampshire is generally way more liberal than are the more conservative states.”

Exactly right — any state that gives Kasich double digit support is not worth paying attention to.

Rubio is the choice of the GOPe and white liberal elite members of the MSM...

If Rubio was running for President of the local College Debate Society he would have my vote.

As President of the United States? NEVER.

Why would you back a GOPe Tangled?

Given the current lineup and provided it doesn’t change significantly such as with a Jeb/Kasich drop out then I don’t see a path to victory for Rubio. If Rubio, Jeb, and Kasich are still in the race come Super Tuesday and they all lose their home states then I think its over for them. Its really hard to make an argument that one is viable if you don’t win anything on Super Tuesday. I do think that if there will be an upset to Trump it will be in Iowa which has a history of doing exactly that. NH only becomes viable for Rubio if Jeb and Kasich leave the race which I don’t see happening. Cruz is a wild card which has one of the best campaign machines out there the key to his success is to win Texas and perform respectably in the other early states.

Honestly Its hard to see the race not coming down to a throw down between Carson and Trump. Carson will attract more establishment types just because of his demeanor but Trump is clearly in it to win it and will attract those more interested in someone who hit back. If Trump wins Iowa, & NH its going to be very hard for anyone else to dominate and if none of the other candidates manage to win their home states on Super Tuesday its game over.

I thought that Homeland Security made a visit to your house if you use the word "exploding".

But Rubio has more-than tripled his support in the last month-plus. He has jumped from 4% support in September to 13% now, putting him just behind Carson.

That's no explosion, that's a small burp after eating a taco.

I agree. I do not understand. Friends tell me that Rubio is such a good speaker and so smooth. I don’t see it. He comes off to me as a plastic windup toy.

Listen up.

Here comes more manure from the establishment.

Amnesty Rubio is surging. What a joke.

Hasn’t Rubio surged (soared) once before, after the 2nd debate? This is probably just another bump post debate.

I’m thinking that also. I support Trump and really hope he makes it but Rubio is very charismatic. Moreso than any of the other candidates running.

Rubio’s a sitting Senator in FL. He’s way behind Trump. Just saying.
