Royals 7 Mets 2 in 12 innings
You're right, it was a sloppy series. By the Mets. Out of those eight errors, six of them were by the Mets. Kansas City handed your boys their asses on a silver platter, And everybody knows it, except you.
First, I’m a Yankee fan who rooted against the mets. I’m also a lifelong baseball fan who watches a hundred games a year for 30 years.
Here are the facts: the mets choked. They had leads in the 9th inning in game 1 AND game 5 and if they had the guts of a champion, they’d be up 3-2 in the series right now. They don’t.
Don’t pretend the Royals destroyed them in this series. They won, and they deserve the victory, but it was not - say - a 1998 Yankee destruction of the Padres.
Oh, well never mind then. I didn't realize you were an expert. If I would have known, I wouldn't have questioned your expertise.
Royals won it all twice in 45 seasons. This was a long time coming. I have followed the team since the last WS win. Been a long ride. For some reason not in a celebratory mood but contented that the team won.
You didn’t question my expertise. You talked to me like you were mocking my “Met fandom” in a bar so you got an in-kind response. If you want to talk baseball like a grown-up, great. If you’d rather mock with a “ha-ha, your team sux”, have a nice life.
For anyone interested in seeing the parade, you can watch live here:
The Royals and the Mets played 5 games. The Royals won 4 of them. Two of them in New York. Two of them in extra innings. I think that is a pretty convincing series win. But I haven't watched 3000 baseball games in the last 30 years, so I could be wrong.
I'm done with you.
The Mets are exactly two plays from being up 3-2 and playing game 6 tonight in KC. Gordon’s home run off Familia in game 1 and a bad throw by Duda in game 5.
Yup, definitely a “convincing” win. Blew em out, they did. Scored 10 early and slowly pulled away, Earl Weaver style.
There may be negative energy here but it is nothing but joy and excitement on the parade route! I’m not gutsy enough to attempt a crowd that size with my kids but we’re watching from home and can’t stop grinning. I don’t care about this play or that play. I’ve heard enough of it the past 30 years from Cardinal fans, my husband being one of them. All I know is that the Royals didn’t quit, took advantage of plays when they could and came out on top as the winners this year. It’s a good day to be in KC!
The Royals won games when they had to. They didn’t “dominate” but you know what they call wins that a team barely ekes out?
Wins.
Congrats on your victory and enjoy every second of it.
That parade and rally yesterday was really something!! So proud of this team!!! LOVE this team!!
