I just saw this. He was one of the “good” guys.
I was a Fredhead. *sigh*
He will be missed.
You never know how long you’re gonna live. Ole Strom didn’t start a family until he was almost 70, and he got to see those kids live to adulthood and to become a grandfather from them. Some could become parents in their teens and die young. The two kids (Fred’s youngest with the second wife) are 12 and 9. Curiously, the death of Fred’s daughter by the first wife in early 2002 spurred on Fred to remarry, start another family and to retire from the Senate that year.
NO!
This is not news I wanted to hear this morning. I really like Fred Thompson too.
Rest in Peace and Godspeed sir. Thank you for your service to this country. =(
He was really good in “Baby’s Day Out”!.........................
Thank YOU, ETL, for the pictures of this lovely family. This is truly a sad, painful time for his children and his wife. May God give them strength.
I voted for Fred in 08, even after he had dropped out and the contest was down to McCain and Huckabee in my state.
I’m saying the same thing about him now as I said when he was alive. He was a fraud. Typical Hollywood snake oil salesman. And lots of conservatives bought the product.
he should have been our candidate....don’t know why we got stuck with McCain or what scared him off....he would have been a man among men....
I backed Thompson too and he had a lot of support and momentum and then all of a sudden he seemed like he did not want the job.
Maybe it was his health or maybe he saw the financial mess of 2008.
I miss him like I miss President Reagan. You can’t say better than that.
He was a wonderful man.
