Krauthammer Says Christie Is Like 'Trump Lite'
FoxNews ^ | 10/29/15 | Staff

George Will said on "Special Report" tonight that after Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, Chris Christie was the big winner at the third GOP debate.

Will said that Christie is a great natural political talent, with a forceful presence.

"You can imagine him on the stage with Hillary Clinton," Will asserted.

"And he might have something that appeals to 'Trumpkins' around the country, without being quite unhinged."

Charles Krauthammer remarked that he loves the idea of Christie being "Trump Lite."

"You like Trump, but you want a polite version? Go to Christie," Krauthammer said. "It could be a campaign slogan."

Watch more from the "Special Report" panel above.

Trump has pretty well laid waste to the pretenders hasn’t he.
.........................................................

I agree. He has been diligently ripping masks off the “Pretenders.” Wonderful sight to see, isn’t it!

So how do you measure business success? Also, is it possible for a business person to be a politician?

I will vote for Cruz in the general. You’ll never get me to vote for a Democrat.

If you were internally consistent in your despite for politicians, then you’d despise Trump for he is a politician par excellence.

Krauthammer and Will are correct but for the wrong reasons. Christie is nothing like Trump policy wise or charisma wise, however, Trump does drown out Christie in the sense that we don’t need two brash guys on the stage. However, without Trump in race, Christie is maybe at 7-8%. There’s never been any appetite (no pun) for Christie since he slobbered all over Obama after Hurricane Sandy.

I like Cruz too, even after his horrendous screw ups, but He CAN’T WIN the nomination! TRUMP CAN and WILL WIN the general election. CRUZ will get his chance when he matures more. He’ll surely be in Trumps cabinet.

Trump is too immature and erratic to trust with the Presidency. Trump’s screw ups are legion and he’s known as an ego-maniac, serial trophy wifer, and Mammon worshipper.

Cruz is none of those things and is eminently electable. Cruz is a man of one wife who has wonderful children. I don’t see evidence that Cruz worships Mammon, nor is he an ego-maniac. He even invites the opposition to debate him.

I’ve only see Cruz behave thoughtfully and respectfully. Trump is a pig.

Trump’s successes are legion and you don’t pull off the deals he has by being immature, erratic, or screwing up. Trump is a Presbyterian and like most Presbyterians, quiet about his beliefs. So he’s had more than one wife! So what? He’s had the honor and decency of divorcing and remarrying, nit hiding scandals with a long line of “lovers.”

There have been a lot of crusty old captains who have brought their ships to safe port, while the intelligentsia have piled their ships on the rocks. That’s where we are now. We have to pick someone to direct this country who has intelligence coupled with talent and experience for the job at hand. Nobody can come up to Trump’s shoulder in possessing the skill set necessary to get us off the rocks.

Let’s just agree to disagree. We have different standards in the measure of a man. For me the order is as follows:

1. Love of God. This is not something you say, but what you do.

2. Is love of your spouse. I get that some marriages are beyond salvaging, but cannot abide a man that tosses out a wife for the newer model. If he won’t love, cherish and honor is number one gal where does that leave me?

3. Loving your children. Trump didn’t raise his wonderful kids. He lucked out in that Ivana’s parents, old world Czechs, raised them for him and Ivana, both self-admitted absentee parents. No success outside the home can make up for a failure within it.

That Trump is rich doesn’t impress me. His behavior is boorish and like a stopped clock he gets it right twice a day. The rest is the behavior of an ego-maniac.

I’ve looked at Trump from all sides and he comes up short. He didn’t achieve as much as his peer class as a businessman. I know men much more successful who started out with nothing and outperformed the market all the while being great husbands and fathers, true to one wife and family.

I don’t find Trump conservative in the least. He talks like every white, union Democrat I know.

So we will disagree. I am interested in a captain who can get out ship of state turned around. I am not interested in ANY OTHER PURITAN QUALITIES. The COUNTRY COMES FIRST.
By the way, why do his kids love him so much if he was not a great father?

I don’t find those values puritanical in the least. A man who doesn’t love his family or his God cannot love his country. That is proven in American history. Trump is not the right man for the job. He will not turn our country in the right direction, just his own. He has a Clintonesque ego and I’ve had my fill of that.

Well, yes, and somewhat disconcerting.

I used to at least be able to kid myself that those folks were on our side.

“Rudy was a guest on the show. DH said Rudy seemed to be having trouble speaking, Is he OK health-wise?”

Yes. I’ve noticed that Rudy may be deteriorating mentally. There might be a problem there.

Quit being silly. You know what I meant.

Every person on earth plays politics to some extent to get by in life; everyone is a politician. Every person on earth isn’t a career politician.
