Russia’s Putin Says Global Warming Is ‘A Fraud’

Russia’s Putin Says Global Warming Is ‘A Fraud’

Michael Bastasch10:56 AM 10/29/2015

Russian President Vladimir Putin believes global warming is a “fraud” — a plot to keep Russia from using its vast oil and natural gas reserves.

Putin believes “there is no global warming, that this is a fraud to restrain the industrial development of several countries, including Russia,” Stanislav Belkovsky, a political analyst and Putin critic, told The New York Times.

“That is why this subject is not topical for the majority of the Russian mass media and society in general,” Belkovsky said.

Putin has been casting doubt on man-made global warming since the early 2000s, according to the Times. In 2003, Putin told an international climate conference warming would allow Russians to “spend less on fur coats,” adding that “agricultural specialists say our grain production will increase, and thank God for that.”

Putin’s comments likely came after his staff “did very, very extensive work trying to understand all sides of the climate debate,” according to Andrey Illarionov, Putin’s former senior economic adviser, who’s now a senior fellow at the libertarian Cato Institute.

“We found that, while climate change does exist, it is cyclical, and the anthropogenic role is very limited,” Illarionov said. “It became clear that the climate is a complicated system and that, so far, the evidence presented for the need to ‘fight’ global warming was rather unfounded.”

The New York Times published an article on how the Russian media’s skepticism of global warming is being driven by Putin’s laissez faire attitude on the issue. The Times bashed the Russian autocrat for offering “only vague and modest pledges of emissions cuts ahead of December’s U.N. climate summit in Paris.”

Russia’s largely state-run media has spent little to no time covering global warming despite huge fires raging across Siberia. Instead of blaming the fires on warming, Russian news outlets tended to focus on “locals who routinely but carelessly burn off tall grasses every year, and the sometimes incompetent crews struggling to put the fires out.”

Such reasoning wasn’t good enough for the Times, which argued that “Russian media continue to pay little attention to an issue that animates so much of the world.”

Russian media leaders argue it’s not just the tone being set by Putin, but a weak economy and unemployment woes are a top concern of the Russian public — they don’t seem to care much about the weather.

“It is difficult to spend editorial resources on things that are now a low priority in the midst of the economic crisis,” Galina Timchenko, who runs a news site, told the Times. “Unfortunately climate change is not very interesting to the public.”

Low oil prices have hampered Russia’s economic growth, and spurred the Putin administration to take more action abroad, fomenting conflict in Ukraine and supporting the Assad regime in Syria. But at home, Russians are feeling the bite of cheap oil and western sanctions.

What kind of world do we live in where I find myself agreeing with a KGB colonel more often than the sitting president?

“What kind of world do we live in where I find myself agreeing with a KGB colonel more often than the sitting president?”

A New World Order kind of world, where Obama and neocons lie down together and bring monstrosities into the world.

“I don’t buy the idea the KGB started global warming. The global climate change fraud has been a money maker for the climate scientist community since the 1970s - back then they peddled global cooling and they made a fortune in grants. “

It was designed by an evil cabal of limousine liberals and country club “conservatives” as a means to “pull up the ladder” on the middle class on a national scale and developing countries on a global scale.

So, you don’t know anything about Goldman Sachs? Well, here’s a little help- they backed the creation of a Carbon Credits market at the Commodity Exchange in Chicago, to support and back the man-caused C02 globull warming agenda. They have salted every executive branch agency with their “people”. It is a very good thorough read and factual— Matt Taibbi’s investigative piece in, of all places, Rolling Stone mag. That’s why the quote.

To make money off the govt. pushed regulatory effort, to wit: destroying coal-based power, shale oil fracking, Keystone Pipeline (vs. Buffetts’ Burlington Northern railroad/kickbacks/subsidies he gets for supporting obamaumao).

The Russians determine it is all a hoax. Russia is one giant commodities dealer to the world, esp. the EU (natural gas, oil, coal etc.) Goldman Sachs supports globull warming when in fact we are headed for a mini ice age.

And what I was saying is that the agenda for globull warming hoax is totally pushed by Goldman Sachs. They and obamaumao and the Occupy socialists/soros all share anti-semitic rage, against Israel and conservatives. That was and is my point. Ironically bankrolled by the “vampire squid” global bankers— to make money on the lie.

Whoever put together the Joe Biden campaign poster should do a “I’m Scootin’ with Putin” version.

You know, with further thought, the visuals on that come out pretty gay. Think White Goodman (Ben Stiller) in “Dodgeball”.

More or less than those who occupy the current Demonratic party?

I would assume not. That said it is quite amusing to me that Poontangs’ intervention into the Syrian conflict has upset the apple cart of the one-worlders. And as hard as I find it to agree with a KGB guy...some of the things he has spouted off about lately...I cannot disagree with.

Here's a good one. Would we be better off under Pootys leadership or Buckwheats? Who...ever would of thought that question would ever even pop into my head....alas that is the world we have allowed the left to create.

Cheers.

Having grown up during the Cold War, I am awkwardly uncomfortable feeling stronger support for Russia’s president than for America’s.

The root of that feeling comes from not wanting to accept that the American president is a more dedicated marxist than the Russian one, and that we lost the Cold War, effectively, because we allowed at least a couple of generations of Americans to be indoctrinated with socialist ideology. Joseph McCarthy was right.

And I maintain that if it wasn't for the ineptitude of Buckwheat, some of wouldn't be pining for Pooty. Even though most sentient beings understand that Pooty is an even worse alternative.

As for the anti-"one worlders," they did strangely fall silent as Putin assembles his "one world."

You missed Philia and Storge.
Eros, Philos, and Agape are found in the NT.
Add Storge to them and you have the four Greek Loves.

I think we are both thinking of the cap and trade scam that started in 1970s in the US by some government environmental persons. The movement I recall was just a thought/way to make money not only by polluters but by government persons in the know and driving the movement. It was always a fraud and I had the opportunity to tell politicians such was the case. However, money and politics won out over common sense.

Yeah, it’s pretty interesting. She was looking at ways to promote nuke power and decrease the stranglehold of the miners union on the Brit economy, so she’s not guilty of trying to invent the insanities of carbon trading ripoff schemes of algore the global lunatic... but still, an interesting history.
