The good news is there are numerous other doors open to us.

What are these "other doors"?

That’s an excellent question and I’ll do my best to answer. First, if you view politics as an end in itself rather than a means to an end, there is no good news here. We’ve been punked by the political class and It isn’t going to get any better and nothing I can say or do is going to change that.

However, if you view politics as merely the means to an end, then this isn’t that bad of news at all. Because if you’re like most Americans, when you’re faced with adversity you figure out a way around it. Frankly, my goal is to live freer, be taxed less, to be left alone, and to be able to worship as I see fit. There are countless ways to achieve that goal. Let me give you a small example. Perhaps raising righteous children is your goal. I would suggest that one day spent volunteering at a Christian youth camp will get you closer to your objective than a lifetime spent in electoral politics. Let’s say your goal is financial security. I would argue that taking Financial Peace University will get you far closer to that objective than a lifetime of showing up at the polls.

So you see, while the electoral door is effectively closed to us, there are so many other doors that are wide open and waiting for us that it’s just plain silly to get all that upset about the kleptocrats and their petty political intrigues.
