Regarding Google's malware database and malware "attack site" warnings on FR [Thread II]
October 28, 2015 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 10/28/2015 10:53:00 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Basically, google's full of crap. Apparently, they have two issues with FR. One is that a user (a long-time user not a hacker) posted a link to an image that (unknown to him) resides on a site google has registered in their database as a malware site. We've pulled the post and notified google. Have no idea when they'll stop flagging us.

The other is that we have links to aim.org. NSS! Aim (Accuracy in Media) is a well known conservative site. Have no idea how many, but I'm sure we've had hundreds or even thousands of links posted to aim.org. We're not going to pull them.

Why google is apparently randomly flagging unrelated threads on FR I have no idea. Your guess is good as mine.

But it's not just google Chrome. Any browser that relies on google's database is doing this.

If you want to stop these erroneous and obnoxious warning messages immediately, you can set a browser option to ignore such warnings. Your virus protection software will catch any real viruses.

Thank you all very much for notifying me. I've received dozens and dozens of these already. Sorry, cannot answer each one individually.

Nobody is interfering with your ability to talk. You aren’t insisting on your right to talk. The true issue is the use of technical means of communication.

If you look back in my posting history you will find that one of my constant objections is that the infrastructure of communication is completely in enemy hands, and that conservatives need to attack and destroy this enemy "air" force or we will never win this war.

I argue that when such communications systems did not exist, people would speak on the court house steps, and they were available to all regardless of their political opinions.

Technology has created a monopoly on the means of communications and given liberals an amplified voice to the public, while we must still make do by shouting from the steps of the court house.

I argue that this is inherently wrong, and that if any communication system exists, then the 1/3-1/2 of the population that agrees with conservative ideas should have just as much right to access as do the liberals who control it, regardless of whether they "own" it or not.

The spectrum, which is what is actually being signaled through by all those electronic devices, is the property of everyone, and this is why the congress has created the FCC to regulate it.

Churchillspirit :" Can you recommend a good - and fair - search engine ?"

I use Dogpile.com , Duckduckgo.com ,and IX quicksearch.com .
Several folks here have reccomended Bing.com (Micro$oft), and Pale Moon .
You should use only those search engines that you feel comfortable , and don't track you (for your own privacy's sake). Many search engines will track you, and sell your inquires to other businesses - at which point, your searches become a saleable commodity.

As an original co-founder of AIM, I’m interested in whether the left is using Google to block access to conservative sites.

Cliff Kincaid runs AIM now, and has for many years. He is a good investigative journalist and knows how to run his organization.

Have other conservative websites, esp. those concerned with the Left and the Media, been experiencing similar troubles? I heard rumors that the Drudge Report and a few other similar sites have had access problems in the past.

PS: AIM was founded out of the McDowell Luncheon Group (aka the Council Against Communist Aggression), a liberal anti-communist labor-based group (Marx Lewis, Hatters Union, Art McDowell, etc).

Over the years our anti-Wash Post and NY Times projects concerning their pisspoor, biased reporting on the Vietnam war, evolved into the creation of Accuracy in Media as a separate project, then organization. It was led by the late Reed Irvine for many years, then by his son Donald, with Kincaid being brought in around 1979 to help do the investigative work, and he has been with it ever since.

Because of AIM, another group was created to go after anti-Israel reporting in the Wash Post, NY Times, etc, and was named CAMERA (Committee for Accurate Middle East Reporting in America), of which I was an editor, speaker, and writer for a number of years.

Like AIM, we kicked a lot of leftist media ass, getting numerous corrections as well as a few admissions of bias in their reporting.

Today, we have the excellent Media Research Center (Brent Bozell and the gang), Campus Reform, Palestine Media Watch, Investigative Project on Terrorism, the lovely, asskicker Pam Geller at Atlas Shrugged, and other patriots who carefully watch the leftwing media and expose their biases and deliberate distortions, misinformation and even Soviet disinformation (Jack Anderson’s Washington Merry-Go-Round syndicated column was one successful KGB target - i.e. the halfassed story on the KGB/CPUSA run Tricontinental Information Center, and Anderson’s covering up for the Marxist nature of all three factions of the FSLN (Sandinista Liberation Front) of the 1980s).

I’m putting this comment out for those of you kids who don’t know about the patriotic (conservative and liberal) pioneers in the fight against leftist bias in the media, esp. since the 1960’s.

As a correspondent in Vietnam and Cambodia during the war, I saw examples of biased writing first hand, which is why I was so glad to have a small hand in helping to create AIM.

Others involved in the creation of AIM included Herb “I Led Three Lives” Philbrick, the former FBI undercover operative; Bernie Yoh, former Chinese Nationalist general in the fight against the Japanese, possible CIA agent (Bernie just smiled when asked about his many trips overseas), a key aid to Gen. Lansdale in fighting the Viet Cong/Viet Minh in the Mekong Delta; Glen Siegal, Vietnam veteran; Marx Lewis, labor leader; Abe Kalish (the man behind the scenes for information and writing); a Mr. Moore, legal advise; the elder Ben Ginsburgh, US Senate committee attorney and legal advisor; Chuck Lucom, former Govt official during WW2; and many other unsung heroes.

It has been a long fight folks, but some of us oldtimers are still in it for the duration.

I would think that you would be within your rights to have a lawyer submit a cease and desist order to the involved websites.

Jim, they’re only hitting the Ted Cruse threads.

It is necessary to click through the red panel for your post to get through, by clicking on “Details.”

.
They fear Cruz, and no other candidate, and the attack will get stronger as it becomes more apparent that Cruz is the candidate.

No, they are not. Just hit me on "Why Family Structure is so Important."

These “ dreaded red screen of horror” have continued today and there is really no rhyme or reason to them. I get DRSOH on a thread where I just was without getting a warning.

My jovial good nature having worn a little thin I have started reporting the reporting site to it's self as having bad code.

Hopefully this does not break the internets.

I just got my first malware warning this afternoon on Firefox.

I switched over to Opera and that works fine.

Technology has created a monopoly on the means of communications and given liberals an amplified voice to the public, while we must still make do by shouting from the steps of the court house.
Technology created the telegraph, and that begat the wire service. Journalism is inherently critical of “the man in the arena” who gets things done for society, therefore journalism is inherently socialist. The wire service (read, the AP), whatever else it is, is a mechanism by which people of the trade of journalism agree among themselves as to what is, and is not, news. And as Adam Smith predicted, the result is a conspiracy against the public.

Now, because transmission bandwidth cost is approaching zero, the raison d’ être of the wire service - the conservation of expensive bandwidth in the dissemination of news - is obsolete. All that remains is the conspiracy against the public.

re: Have other conservative websites, esp. those concerned with the Left and the Media, been experiencing similar troubles?

If you get a chance take a look at my replies 70 and 75.

I do remember the 50s and 60s (as well as much of the 40s).

I was well aware of the bias of the MSM employees.

You probably know all about Sunstein mentioned in the aforesaid posts. Here is something that I have oft-posted.. it's from the time when he published "Republic.com".

Here's how President Obama's head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs and author of "Repulblic.com," Cass Sunstein, describes FreeRepublic.com as "group polarization," where people segregate themselves so effectively online with other like-minded thinkers that they create an echo chamber where the group's worst and most malevolent opinions get reinforced and strengthened. "We might want to consider," Sunstein startlingly told the Times recently, "the possibility of ways of requiring or encouraging sites to link to opposing viewpoints."

He recently left the Administration to become an employee of Harvard. I thought of him when I read that a group at Harvard was involved in the groups posting warnings on web sites.

I use IE and still get the warning. From Google:

Guard typewritten letter with superscript and proportionally spaced font. ... that tipped off the Dan Rather “military letters” on George Bush as fake .... but spends a million bucks in legal fees not to submit it to a judge in a court...

Cass Sunstein is a Marxist or fascist thinker, or both. We can sum up his mentality as that of a “totalitarian” in academia.

Free speech means nothing to the Left, per his statement. However, he would have made a great Nazi or Commissar. No wonder Obama likes him and his pathetic wife Samantha Powers.

They are his kind of people.
