After watching last night’s Trump rally, I don’t know how ANYONE could be inspired by a snoozer like Carson.

Have you seen anything anywhere to explain this Carson boomlet? He’s not campaigning, no major speeches, policy or other announcements? How does one move numbers if one does nothing but a book tour and no one sees or hears from you?

That's why I don't believe the polls. I suspect some major money is getting spread around to rig these polls in hopes of discouraging Trump.

It won't work because Trump isn't a quitter and he doesn't really get discouraged.

the explanation is that rational folks realize the brilliance of Carson as an outstanding quality for a president. The brilliance transcends the trivia some drag up to attempt to degrade him

I think the Club for Growth anti-Trump ads running in Iowa are causing voters to switch from one outsider candidate to another. Latest report is that 78% of ‘Pub voters say they haven’t locked in for whom they’re going to vote — volatile electorate.

No. I suspect it's manufactured. They appear to be cycling through the available candidates, looking for someone they can use to derail Trump. They came out of the gate with Jeb, then tried to push Carly, and now they're having a go at Carson. They won't go near Cruz (that's what we call a "clue").

He’s been raising money for a long time. I have no idea if it’s outside groups or his own, but I’ve seen more ads and emails for Carson since the 1st of the year than anyone. I would guess they are active in the ground game or media ads in Iowa.

The push was to have Bush take him out and then Carly. Both failed. Now, the push is to have Carson take Trump out of the lead. It seems to have had more effect than the others. I think Carson is an easy landing place for people who are sick of politics but either don’t like Trump’s style or don’t think it’s viable to win with him. I’ve talked to several people who like Carson a lot.

As long as Trump's face keeps showing up on news shows he'll have a implied legitimacy that all the campaign adds in the world can't buy.

No, he was promoting the show’s series of candidate interviews at Dartmouth.

Actually, there is a bit of that kind of thing going on, and - this is just from personal observation - mostly among "touchy-feely" GOP women whose lives are still just hunky-dory. Women who are having their belts tightened and their little towns invaded by illegals don't have time for that crap. I'm fairly sure it is largely due to the continuous air and whispering campaigsn from the CFG types and Iowa's merry band of perpetual evangelical troublemakers.

FWIW, last night I got still another unsolicited e-mail, this time from a Reince Priebus GOP minion, and I can only surmise that the GOP-e is either colluding directly with Ben Carson's people or very adroitly using him to harm Trump. I've been out of the party a while yet along with the current spate of generic GOP pleas, I've gotten nothing from any other specific candidate but Carson, and his are somewhat similar boilerplate.

I wholeheartedly agree! I don't believe these latest polls. The GOPe and the MSM want to upend Trump in the worst way. They need to stop him and this is just their latest attempt.

Trump and Cruz will overcome!
