Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) plans on nominating Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) as the next Speaker of the House, a new report says.
Gowdy will speak on behalf of Ryan to the House GOP conference Wednesday, according to CNN.
Reps. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) and Kristi Noem (R-S.D.) are also delivering speeches backing Ryan. Ryan will be the heavy favorite when the House GOP votes Wednesday on a nominee for Speaker. Rep. Daniel Webster (R-Fla.) remains Ryan's on competition.
Wednesday’s winner will face a vote of approval from the full House chamber Thursday.
The victor will replace Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) following his departure from Congress at week’s end.

Look at the numbers. Out of 435 reps, there are maybe 5 or so in the house who are willing to stand up and be counted.
So for all the effort, money, and countless hours spent campaigning and voting, what we have are 5 reps to show for it.
That’s a crappy return on investment no matter how you calculate it.
Replace the word “could” with “will” and you’re absolutely correct.
Ryan will only be speaker until January 2017. He needs to deliver for the Chamber of Cronies before he hands the gavel back to nasty nancy.
Of course Gowdy knows this, but remember the true power and money in his district are international business: BMW, Michelin, and Nestle among others. Is it is a wonder Gowdy is a supporter of free trade and amnesty?

Always knew Gowdy was a POS but had tense time with freepers here that just love him.

One thing we should have learned in the past few months is “cannot trust ANYONE who is in Congress now”. Nothing should surprise us from this bunch. They have been there long enough to have the lies/pretend/deceit to rub off on them.
They are loyal to one another... there is NO loyalty to the people who put them there. The founding fathers put a time limit on them... the voters do not. We’d better actively be removing them after one term... or this is what we get.
They know how to pretend on TV. they know how to lie to the reporter. They have it down pat. All that is why Trump and Carson are doing well.... and the media still hoping Jeb will make it.
They do believe everything is as okay out here as it is with them in Washington.. They do believe we are just a few nuts who are disgruntled and they don’t know why.... they just want us to go away.

Up until I read this article I had great respect for Goudy.
Now, I find that he is in bed with the rest of the GOPe and all respect has been vaporized immediately.
We need a new phrase for these traitors “closet GOPes.”
I’m still just sick thinking that little Eddie Munster is the new Speaker of the House. It’s a done deal and it will certainly happen as sure as the sun rises in the morning.
The Republicans are “sticking their fingers in our eyes” (or some other orifice) knowing that “diehard” Republicans go along with it like mechanical robots.

There’s a reason Gowdy’s been ineffectively flapping his jaws for 2 years + in the Benghazi hearings.
