This is somewhat misleading. Edwards, D rec’d 444,061 votes, 40%. Three Repubs received 637,565 votes, 55%.

“Edwards is a hard core liberal democrat.”

He’s a Democrat but not “hard core liberal”. He’s pro-life, anti-common core, pro Second Amendment, West Point grad and a Vet. He’s very popular with law enforcement.

The Republican I voted for in the primary didn’t make it to the run-off and I will have a hard-time pulling the lever for Vitter. He’s pretty slimy folks.

Yeah, and watch all those “Conservative” positions go out the window if he’s elected. If he were really Conservative, he’d have switched parties like many of the DINOs did. Vitter is the only choice to make.

Distantly related is what Eddie says.

Not related is what John Bel’s lying wikipedia page says.

Pro-life? Pro-life? Why’s he in the planned parenthood party then? How does he feel about sodomites?

He’s in the party that’s lead by OBAMA and CLINTON and lead in Louisiana by BLACK LEFTISTS and MITCH LANDREIU, he’s scum. Epic fail to any ninny who pimps for his election on FR. Are you really gonna vote for the person supported by the race pimps cause Vitter screwed a whore? Is his wife your sister?

And epic fail to the idiot sheffifs that endorsed Edwards. I hope they get a taste of Black lives matter. BLM is the democrat party!

If you voted for Darden or Angelle, you’re no conservative. Or you haven’t been paying attention over the past 20 or 30 years of Louisiana politics.

Yeah, I mean I was down with backing someone other than Vitter but those 2 that ran against him are RINOs, yes? Is one even better than the other? Vitter is a solid conservative so that’s an easy choice.

And I’ll note there have been polls showing Edwards in close runoffs with them as well so I ain’t even so sure one of them would haved guaranteed victory.

The main reason Edwards has a chance is Jindal is so unpopular (why? I’m not sure, a few freepers accuse him of raping the state’s finances but isn’t that what the dems are saying?) not Vitter’s sexcapades which were already public knowledge 4 months ago when he was leading comfortably in the polls.

I’ve had my problems with Jindal ever since he was first elected. Those issues are documented here on FRee Republic back in early 2008.

However, the last few years, Jindal’s problems are a result of his taking on the Deadhead Class - government employees, teachers union, government retireds - the people who have a liplock on the government tit. You know who they are.

The paid media have allied themselves with the Deadheads, especially, John Georges, who owns The (Baton Rouge) Advocate. He ran for gov in 2007.

dear pickachu,

‘yellow journalism’ is a term not mentioned much anymore, but I agree it is in operation, today.

Now, a question for you ...

Since you mentioned ‘yellow journalism’, WHO was it that invented and coined the that term?
