With all due to the mod, I think there’s truth to the rumor.

Whether or not he drops out tomorrow, the fact remains Jeb is finished as a serious candidate.

If Jim Rob think its not plausible, he’s better off buying the bridge in Brooklyn than in donating to the Jeb campaign.

Honestly, I can’t think of a reason why any one would give him a dime.

Starts with a “B” — ends with an “h” — rhymes with “cartouche.”

The family meeting may have been an "attaboy" session, or just a consultation with his family regarding how to handle the upcoming debate. Trump has already set Jeb up like a bowling pin; I suspect the Donald will be gently needling Jeb and others, but only in response to digs made on him, and will do it all with a smile on his face.

Before anyone announced, Jeb was being presented by the drive-bys as a fait accompli; now that it's obvious that Trump is headed for nomination and election, the drive-bys cook up some imaginary problem after each debate. Carly -- rememeber her? She was the up and coming star, Trump was starting to fade. Right now it's Carson, same kinds of things being said.

The pre-primary part of the campaign is perhaps the most important, because it's a long unrequited struggle before the first primary/caucus. If Jeb drops out, his supporters will go to Christie, Carson, Carly, or Rubio.

Rubio pretty much lit himself on fire this week with his foolish remarks. Christie is a gun-grabbing, amnesty-pushing, Shariah-apologist, and apart from *maybe* NJ, is unlikely to put up big numbers anywhere. Not sure where his campaign raises money, but I doubt he has many prospects. No money, no campaign.

Carly is unelectable because of that old late-hit Boxer's campaign laid on her during her Senate run. Because she's also from the world of business, she and Trump might not make the best pairing, but given their history, and her gender, patching things up would make lib heads 'splode.

If Trump is the nominee, he's going to need a running mate; best bet is Ted Cruz (and the drive-bys have resumed their anti-Cruz nonsense). He'd also be young enough and seasoned enough eight years later to run in his own right. Trump with a Latino running mate would make lib heads 'splode.

In eight years, Jeb will be 70, will have even less political appeal than now, and won't that be too bad.
