Real-estate mogul Donald Trump released a statement on Friday calling on every presidential candidate to drop their so-called super PACs.
"I have disavowed all Super PAC's, requested the return of all donations made to said PAC's, and I am calling on all Presidential candidates to do the same," Trump said.
Super PACs, which can raise and spend unlimited funds, are required to be independent of the campaigns they support, though some candidates blur the lines more than others.
Trump's statement came one day after Politico reported that the main super PAC backing his campaign, Make America Great Again PAC, was closing shop.
The PAC said it decided to shutter because Trump indicated that he didn't want a super PAC, but the decision followed increasing media scrutiny on the connections between Trump's campaign and the supposedly independent operation.

Easy for a gazillionaire to say.
....says the guy with a brazilian dollars of his own money. Maybe he’d like if they shot themselves in the foot as well.
He and Obama are in agreement on this.
He should take that matter up with Bernie Sanders since Sanders is the hate the rich candidate.
Smart move Donald. You can use that line at the debate next week also.
I see this as playing the demagoguery game right back at the demagogues.
brilliant move by Trump even if you don’t like him...the far left wing whines about money corrupting the political process- hence Trump is telling them to take their interest groups out...they can once again be called out as hypocrites...
Easy to say when Daddy leaves you with tens of millions of dollars.
Trump just took the hypocritic oath.
Check. Your move.
Why? So only billionaires can run? Eff trump.
Trump didn't want a super pac of any kind, said that in every speech he has made...the only money he will except, and then it's given to charity, are the thank you letters and cards that people put money in when they send them to him...but he isn't using it to manage his campaign and if anyone is saying anything other than that, they are lying...
Smart move!!! GO TRUMP!!!
trump is getting sillier and sillier
Easy for someone with his own campaign plane (which he charges the campaign for) and has enough money to run without outside help.
Let Donald give up using any more of his money than the amount any other candidate raises in hard currency. So say Ted Cruz raises $12 million in a quarter then The Donald can only use $12 million of his money (including what he charges to use the plane). Don’t think he’d go for that.
I would like to point out to you that Trump has spent the least, BY FAR!!!, of all the GOP candidates!
"Limit your money, it's evil."
"Trust the MSM to communicate your message unfiltered."
WEll obviously none of the others will give up their super pacs but The Donald can beat them over the head with it and get some PR out of it. Smart.
Yet his support keeps growing.
