“Fungi is correct. Karma is not a Christian (or Jewish) concept.”

Only the word “Karma” isn’t Christian in origin. The concept is undoubtedly Christian.

Proverbs 11:31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth; much more the wicked and the sinner.

That people suffer consequences for being and practicing evil while still in their earthly life is largely accepted by many faiths and sets of beliefs except those that aim to glorify and tout evil and its advantages.

No.

Both of you are missing the understanding that Karma is about what happened in a past life and how it impacts the present life. Reincarnation is at its core and one’s status or living condition is believed to be predicated on one’s prior incarnation, I.e. past life.

It has been conflated with the Biblical teachings you cite and the term karma has become nearly synonymous with sowing what one reaps.

But this is a misunderstanding of and distortion of the Hindu/Buddhist understanding and belief of karma.
