No.

Both of you are missing the understanding that Karma is about what happened in a past life and how it impacts the present life. Reincarnation is at its core and one’s status or living condition is believed to be predicated on one’s prior incarnation, I.e. past life.

It has been conflated with the Biblical teachings you cite and the term karma has become nearly synonymous with sowing what one reaps.

But this is a misunderstanding of and distortion of the Hindu/Buddhist understanding and belief of karma.

Instant Karma was propagated by the Beetles.
Properly speaking karma effects your transition
from one life to the next but that is not understood
by most westerners.

It is funny to watch “instant” karma in action though.

One time a friend of mine was going ballistic over someone
parking in “his” parking space. We tried to calm him down
but he just would not and finally took a knife to one of
the tires to “teach them a lesson”. Honestly, as soon as he did it, someone came
and told him it belonged to the boyfriend of the girl
who lived upstairs and he ended up buying a new tire.

Why are you so sure of yourself, if your main focus is Christianity? Hinduism itself teaches that karma is cause and effect. So does Buddhism. The doctrine of reincarnation is a completely separate subject which includes, by extension, karma. But karma itself is a Sanskrit term and concept that means “act” and is related to the results of those acts. And that is the exact same concept portrayed in the Bible multiple times. You’re just wrong on this subject. Try to accept that with a little graciousness.
