Crime is back up in California. Los Angeles reported a 20.6 percent increase in violent crimes over the first half of 2015 and nearly an 11 percent increase in property crimes.
Last year, cash-strapped California taxpayers voted for Proposition 47, which so far has let thousands of convicted criminals go free from prison and back onto the streets. Now the state may have to relearn what lawbreakers often do when let out of jail early.

This should be the object lesson of all time. It’s hard to imagine a region that has as much going for it as California. If liberalism can f#*k up California, it will (and does) f#*k up everywhere.
No.
next question.
California solution to the water problem - tear out existing dams. Because fish are people, too.
My favorite VDH stories come from his vivid and acerbic contemplation while riding his bicycle.
No. The idiot population and politicians are sawing off the branch, sitting on the wrong side of the cut.
If there was a Darwin Award for States, California would get it.
And of course the lack of jobs also hurts these criminals when let out early and unprepared who have to go back to their ‘old ways’ to support themselves.
There was an old saying: “When the continent tilts, everything loose ends up in California. Crazies tend to migrate to California. Now they are in a clear majority.
Looks and sounds like Gov. moonbeam needs to declare the entire state a sanctuary zone. That should help. Plus, offer some lucrative jobs building the high speed train they are planning. That should take some off the streets and doing something productive. Right?
Hands down.
CBS has produced a great look at the gross failure of California, Los Angeles to be specific.
the program is Code Black. it is ostensibly about the goings on in an emergency room but the goings on illustrate the total failure of the Los Angeles system of doing things.
I really can’t believe that the left leaning CBS would permit such a damning portrayal to be broadcast
California, the Granola State: fruits, flakes, and nuts.
Even VDH refers to “undocumented immigrants.” Not a good sign.
Good riddance!
Yes. If byt only if the San Andreas fault snaps on the southern half of the state...
In a word, no. Not with Governor Moonbeam and the current legislature and the ultra-liberal mindset in the remaining rich enclaves like Beverly Hills, La Jolla, Palo Alto, parts of the Monterey Peninsula etc. Overrun by illegals that the state government seems hell-bent on lavishing with all the benefits of citizenship, an enviro-whacko outlook towards business and development, and ever more ridiculous restrictions and taxes on the populace, all of which has combined to drive many productive citizens out of the state. It’s a damn shame, because it truly is one of the most beautiful states in the nation, with a fantastic climate.
Yes. If but only if the San Andreas fault snaps on the southern half of the state...
CA is on an unsustainable trajectory. It is far too past too many tipping point. The real question is not “Can CA Be Saved” it is what will it look like. Will it crash? Or just devolve into 3rd world status?
