It makes a difference because Bush
didn't do that. Bush volunteered to go to Vietnam, and was turned down by his superiors because his experience was with jets no longer flown.
Mapes knew he had volunteered from the beginning, and tried to perpetrate a hoax.

Public knowledge of National Guard activities barely exists.
I flew in the Ohio ANG after I served 5 years active duty as a reserve officer. My unit flew F-84Fs and, after I left, were assigned F-100s, A-7s and F-16s over a 30 year period. When a pilot is assigned to a guard unit he is fair game to be called to active duty and MANY units are over time. The last call up of my unit was the Korean War but all pilots flew. George W. Bush did put his life on the line by just going to USAF Pilot Training. He flew the F-102 (that I know) and that airplane did not see action in Vietnam. Rather/Mapes were out to get “W” but neglected to even inquire about the facts of the matter. “TRUTH?” my ass! A better title would be “LIES and MORE LIES!”
Bush did not go to Canada as many did or pull a fast one on the ROTC like WJC.

Yup. The absolute aircraft was also the reason Bush was allowed to skip his last reserve requirements, according to his Commander. The entire thing from start to finish was a fraud and Robert Redford (the commie) thinks this will prove his biased views correct. Won't wash.
